Well thank f*ck for that!

Sh!te first half, decent second half.

We gained two on the Manc's, if we win our game in hand and beat them at their place all results equal we're only 9 behind  :eyebrow

After that we can take out Arsenal :D

get rid of the yanks, they're making the club look bad so i couldn't give a toss how we make them look.

It goes back even earlier that that John. Even Shanks never took to the Yanks. One of the funnier memories that have been told about him was when LFC went on tour to the States.
He was taking to someone and asked them had they heard of Tom Finney, The reply was "whose Tom Finney.".

"But everyones heard of Tom Finney" Shanks said

Apparently Shanks was mortified and said "If America did not want to know Tom Finney then Shankly doesnt want to know the Americans", And he left part way into Liverpools five week trip there and refused to go on the Ed sullivan show with the rest of the team. He only stayed a week.

See, if David Moores had told the press he'd spoke to another manager, we'd be calling him sensible for having a back up plan, because it's yanks who've done it there the world's worst. :D
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Did anyone else hear Rafa's post-match comments regarding Lucas? He had a sly dig at Kewell and his attitude.

He was asked why he played Lucas there and he basically said he wanted players who wanted the ball, weren't afraid to try things and would put in the effort.

Nice, looks like he is taking notice. Doesnt look like Kewell will be here next season....

Kewell's out of contract at the end of the season anyway, and I highly doubt he'll be getting a new contract, but at long last Benitez has seen Kewell is useless. Just another 10 to go now Rafa, including you :D

Its all well and good having a player there who wants the ball, it is not so good when the same player passes to the other team when he gets it. I have nothing against Lucas but he is not and never will be a left winger.

I have been impressed with what I have seen of him in the middle and I think he will go on to become a brilliant player for us but NOT as a left winger.

Babel was on the bench he should have played on the left. The time for experimenting with players is over, its OK in a so called easy game but unfortunately due to our poor league from we are now in a situation where we no longer have any easy games.

difference is moores wouldn't have broadcast it on massive screens in times square and gone on telly shoutin' about it like a tool. (he'd have made rick "the hair" parry do it instead :D )

Seriously, please, stick these in the yanks threads.

That's a relief......

We were horrible in the 1st half but improved no end in the 2nd..... can do better but I'll take what I can get at the moment. Mascherano was an absolute monster today..... we need to sign the boy asap.

Our wing situation is dire...... Lucas out on the left when he is clearly gonna struggle there? Strange decision I thought...
BUT.... am happy with the result.

C'mon you red men!

Im pleased we got away with another rafa idea ! the one that started the rot, in my opinion, was the one he had at reading, and that has cost us. Crouch on the left was never going to work, whoever we played against. Like you pleased with the result. Now lets get to stamford bridge and get a win there, like someone said earlier there record has to end sometime, may as well be us to end it !

Job done despite the team selection today.  Carra at RB? WTF? ???  That said, I was made up for him when he left Murphy flat-footed and whipped that cross in for Crouchy!  Lucas had a poor game but, then again, he's no left midfielder.  Bizarre.

Not surprisingly, we were disjointed, off the pace and very lackadaisical in the first half.  We stepped it up slightly in the second with the goals but it was still pretty lacklustre and they got a few too many opportunities to peg us back.  Hopefully the international break will shake everyone out of their lethargy.

Oh, and lovely play from Crouch and Torres for the second.  Keep picking them, Rafa. :nod

I think a majority would agree with that.

I can't believe that people are backing the tanks out protest, if people think getting them out will solve the problems on the pitch they are seriously deluded,

Now a rafa out protest would be the way forward here, let's get things right on the pitch first then deal with other issues, last time I looked we were a football club and that means football comes first and while we have this 'genius' at the helm we are running in treacle
