It was hot, but Aimar swang, and he swang and he swang. He’d stop only for a second to reposition himself in the deep rut in the batter’s box that he no doubt helped create. He’d swing, follow through and then settle back into his stance and wait on another pitch.

What a guy!! :D

HEH HEH HEH HEH

2352: "David Bentley is at Anfield as we speak, as is David Villa."
Neil, via text

I particularly like the way that Neil thinks Bentley would be bigger news than Villa.  :D

18.6 million
-   11 million
   7.6 million

Not too shaby for a four year deal if it would be true ......
I would imagine the sale of Sissoko would be put towards this ...

I still dont see the team change that much as we bought a defender and a defensive midfielder :D
We struglle up front with any talent par one ..........

Looks like we will have to wait till summer .

I doubt the deal includes wages, MSI must have forked out a fair bit for his economic rights initially, at least £6m I reckon (I can't remember the exact fee). I think the fee we appear to be about to pay may well represent a solitary transfer fee.

It's a good thing we've got him.

We'll need him for our assault upon the UEFA Cup next season.

I think 18 and a half million for someone who does the same as Didi Hamann is a waste personally. I'd rather of seen that spent on another out and out striker. But what's done is done, let's hope he proves to be worth nearly the same price as Torres.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

errr.... why do ppl think that only players with attacking skills are worth that kind of money... players with qualities like Hamann, Makelele, Roy Keane and now Mascherano are very rare... they constantly breaks up the opponents' play and help initiate the team's attacks... not ANY defensive midfielder can do that... just look at sissoko... Mascherano's got decent passing abilities and his hussling skills and tackling are one of the best i've seen... he's worth that money... personally I would have kept Hamann though, he still can do the job very well... but now we've got a young midfielder like Masch and he'll only get better, we should keep him... besides I don't think the 18.5 million figure stated has to be paid lump sum... probably it's like 4.6 million a year...
