as for the players and fans of havant theyve lead at anfield, not once but twice and deserved it aswell, they gave a great account of themselves and can be proud of what they did today. good on them and i hope they enjoyed every minute of it.

We  were a 4king disgrace today. There can be no excuses, playing against a team of :censored:-head plumbers, labourers and bin men! I was embarrassed to witness it.The gulf in class should have been blatantly apparent, but from my seat in the Kop I could only recognise us from our shirts. I spend my hard-earned cash to travel from the Midlands to see us 4-5 times a season at Anfield. I have never left feeling so deflated. For all the money spent on players, Rafa has merely fashioned a cup side(and not a great one at that!) Our over-reliance on Spanish players may be the cause, hopefully, he will unearth a few diamonds from the African cup, a la Chelski and Arsenil;but hey, that's just my opinion and as a man once said"Opinions are like :censored:.....everyones got one ,but they all stink! :D

we were in a no win situation today, win 5-2 be called sh.ite, win 10-0 be called sh.ite
through to next round which is main thing but soe of the performances were pretty bad.
i think roberto mancici and inter will be pretty confident at this stage

Eh? We were twice behind against a pub team, to be more blunt, we have players payed thousands a week to play football professionally against a team that play football for minimum wage and do domestic jobs to make ends meet. A 10 - 0 victory would show a different attitude to the teams performance.

Not been back long. Felt proud to be a Red again today. Nothing to do with the performance but the way the crowd clapped their goals and the standing ovations afforded to their substitutes and the Havant & Waterlooville team at the end of the game. There was a time when this was the best run club in the game, streets ahead when it came to conducting ourselves at all levels, players, coach's and boardroom. Well that might not be the case anymore but the fans are still a class above :bowdown

As for the game. Credit to them, they played the game of their lives, they were very well organised, excellent at set-pieces and the lad up-front was a real handful, his movement ran Skrtel ragged all game. We looked like what we are at the moment, a side struggling to find it's feet, confidence shot to pieces and missing our three best players. Am just happy to get through after the first half. I think the manager missed an opportunity to play his best side today. I don't think the lads necessariliy lacked effort today (am sure that has been bandied about a fair bit in the previous 24 pages of this thread) there was simply no spark, no confidence and a real lack of ideas. Saying that, the mancs got held to a draw at Trafford by lowly Exeter three seasons back, wasn't that the year they beat Millwall in the final?

As for individual players. Skrtel had an absolute mare of a first half although he did (thankfully) grow into the task as the 2nd half wore on. Mascherano was once again all over the pitch and i think the guy actually has a better engine than Sissoko, several idiots were whinging about him on phone-ins on Radio City and Radio Mersey and they want shooting as far as i'm concerned, got to sign this lad up. Babel was given a start up-front with Crouch (as so many of you have demanded) and really struggled to work in tight spaces plus he looked uncomfortable with his back to goal. Pennant looked like he was getting back to match fitness although his final ball let him down a few times today and i'd like to see him take a shot when the opportunity is there.

All in all, we're through and that will have to do. Important games on Wednesday and Saturday. Desperately need to find some form going into the Inter games.

Yeah that was a wonderful gesture from the supporters. They even applauded when they went in front for the second time. Class.
