Owen could be gone by the end of today

OWEN LATEST

Michael Owen could be a Real Madrid player before the day is out, say the Liverpool Echo. Rumours are rife that the England international striker is on the verge of sealing a move to Spain.

It's thought that Owen will be left out of the Liverpool team to face AK Graz in Austria this evening so that he isn't cup-tied for any potential buyers, meaning that Rafael Benitez will give Milan Baros and Djibril Cisse the nod in attack.

Madrid are thought to have made an offer of £10m for Owen, who has just one-year left on his current contract, plus either Fernando Morientes or Samuel Eto'o.

The Echo says that it is now down to Owen, although they haven't completely ruled out the possibly of him playing in this evenings' game

Probably gone to the bookies
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

I'd prefer him to go now than to get no money at end of season. Adios. Players come and go!

Oh no - Michael Owen's just walked out of a hotel with his agent!

He must be about to sign for Real Madrid!

Get a f**king grip, people. The rumours were all over the papers today, so obviously they're going to read any old rubbish into pretty much everything he does today. And it's not as if hotels are the most exciting places to spend an entire day, let's face it.

Yes, players come and go!  Owen has not continued the progress that took him to the point of scoring for England against Argentina.  I think the new start should do him good and we can spare a forward. We now need another Sunness or Thompson in the middle of the park.

If he goes he goes, yes i'd miss him but, if were all honest we havent seen the best out of him for 18 months atleast,  we have two dangerous strikers at the mo in  Baros and Cisse,  and Pongolle will also chip in. Lets face it he's always said he'd move at some point, he's never had liverpool in his blood. Morientes and 10 mill would make it easier to take.
