One thing's for sure, it's a huge relief that we got the home draw. :D

Hopefully the BBC get the live rights to this one. Ties like this are exactly what the cup should be about, and seeing as though the romance of the cup has been under question in recent years, what better way to show the public what it's all about?

For me, Torres starts, but with view to keeping him on the pitch for as short a time as possible. At the very least he and Gerrard need to be available on the bench. Putting a weakened side out with a weak bench is just asking for trouble, and if we fail to score in the first 45 with no good attacking options available to come on, god only knows what could happen.

Fourth Round Proper
Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 January 2008
Winning clubs will receive £60,000 from The FA
Third Round Results - Results

The FA Cup Fourth Round TV ties have been selected, with the BBC cameras heading to Field Mill to kick off the weekend as League Two Mansfield take on Premiership Middlesbrough.

That match kicks off at 12.30pm and will be followed later that day, at 5.15pm, with the all-Premiership clash at the JJB Stadium between Wigan Athletic and holders Chelsea, also on BBC.

Sunday's live TV action begins at 2pm at Old Trafford, where Manchester United will entertain Tottenham Hotspur or Reading, again on BBC.

Sky Sports will screen the weekend's final live tie, at Bramall Lane, as Sheffield United will welcome either West Ham United or Manchester City. That match kicks off at 4pm.

I reckon there's scope for our game to be a Sunday 4pm kick off, live on the BBC.

If they don't go after the game, they need their heads testing. There's few games these days where you're almost guaranteed goals... this is certainly one of them. Get it on BBC2 if needs be, but it's guaranteed to get huge interest from neutral fans.

I'm sure the game will be shown live.

The BBC and Sky will air a match in the cup if they think they'll be an upset, they'll be pretty long odds for this one. But didnt they show the Luton game live over in the UK ? They want an upset on T.V and usually Liverpool gets a few live games in the F.A cup. The kunts.

FA Cup heroes Havant and Waterlooville will be a star attraction in Thurrock next week.

Their Blue Square South fixture with Thurrock has been brought forward a week and will now be played on Wednesday, January 23, kick-off 7.45pm.

Thurrock will host Havant's FA Cup heroes just four days before their FA Cup fourth round tie with Liverpool at Anfield

I was going to go to the game but my wife is going out swimming so i will be staying in with my daughter.

Husband and son looking forward to agreat day out.  Best match they could ever imagine.

Can anyone tell me how strict the seating according to ticket block/numbers is?
My sons best friend and his dad are coming too but the tickets are in different blocks.  Would they be able to swap and sit together?

Has anyone thought of writing a new song for both sets of fans....How About....'Under The Moon Of Love You'll Never Walk Alone!'

Thanks

I think we should put our full team out, this is not a game to take with a pinch of salt and we must not slip up.

FA cup shocks do happen .
you would have to go back to 1960 for one this big.
IPSWICH TOWN 2-3 PETERBOROUGH UNITED (DIV 2 VS MID LGE)

and the way we have been just of late and with whats going on our team is not at its best, if there way ever a good time to play us its now.

its win win for them.

We've got a manc-esque draw so far, teams it would be hard to lose to. But we shouldn't get complacent, we've drawn too many league games in a row and couldn't beat Luton at the first attempt. I suspect this will be another false dawn as I predicted against Luton in the replay, we'll win easily and then struggle in the league against West Ham

I would think we would need an all new reserve side if they were not cappable of beating a non-league team, they aren't even close to winning their league, and even if they did, they would STILL be non-league.  It might be harder for some of the regular starters (other than Gerrard) to get up for this game and unless you score 7 its a bit embarrasing

It really should be time for Leons fourth appearance of the season in goal. I know I've been wrong many times before, but feck me if we can't put out any collection of players who have signed professional forms for Liverpool Football Club and beat these comfortably we might as well give over. By that I mean kids, youth team players, reserves, Dirk Kuyt, literally anybody.

How gutted must this kid be though as far as im concerned the fa are out of order

FA break Havant hearts and prevent Justin Gregory from playing at Anfield
By MARK ALFORD - More by this author »

Romance of the Cup? Not a chance. The mean-spirited Football Association have broken Justin Gregory's heart and prevented him from playing at Anfield on Saturday.

Broken hearted: Justin Gregory
The Havant and Waterlooville full-back was due to serve a one-match ban after picking up five bookings this season, but looked set to be available for the Liverpool FA Cup fourth round tie after Havant re-arranged a league match at Thurrock tonight.

But that was before the FA got wind of the Hawks' plans.

Gregory said: "A reporter rang me on Thursday and said: 'Havant have put a game on to clear your suspension'. But as far as I was concerned it was being put on just clear the backlog. I said: 'You can suggest things like that. But I'd just be happy if the game goes forward'."

"If a few of them (the FA) played football," he added. "They would know how important this cup tie is for a certain player. It's a dream come true. It feels like they can bully this club because it's in the Conference South.

"If it was Sir Alex Ferguson or Jose Mourninho I'm sure this wouldn't have happened. I'm really disappointed in the outcome and hopefully the FA can put their heads together and overturn the ruling."

FA spokesman Mark Cooper said: "What Havant and Waterlooville have done is specifically arranged this match against Thurrock for the reason of enabling Justin Gregory to serve his suspension and therefore allow him to play against Liverpool.

"The club have admitted this. The club secretary, who came to our meeting yesterday, admitted that this was the specific reason they have arranged the Thurrock fixture.

"The club had done various interviews in the media talking about how they were planning to do this for this specific reason. We cannot turn a blind eye, if something comes to our attention we're going to look at it. We had a regulatory commission yesterday made up of four people and it was a unanimous decision - they saw this as an abuse of the system and therefore they said that his match should not count towards his [Gregory's] suspension."

Gregory added: "It's a nightmare, but there's not much I can do about it. The FA are pretty archaic if you ask me.

"I've written a few emails to officials to explain the situation, but I don't remember them going back on a decision too many times, so I guess I just have to live with it.

"I did an interview saying I was happy there was a league game taking place so my suspension would be cleared, but that was taken out of context.

"The FA officials obviously saw that and think the game has been specifically arranged. I'm absolutely gutted, but you also have to keep things in perspective. Nobody died and it gives someone else the chance to play at Anfield."

Brock added: "At the end of the day, rules are rules and if it wasn't for the Liverpool game being so high-profile, no-one would have complained with the FA's decision. Having said that, it's tough to take.

"Why would they want to deny someone their dream to play at Anfield? It's horrendous. I'm extremely disappointed for the club and for Justin."

"The commission, therefore, felt that the suspension should stand as originally intended and that Havant and Waterlooville's match against Thurrock would not count towards the completion of the suspension."

Punished for being too honest. You don't often hear of that in modern football. Shame for Gregory. Shame on the FA.
