Imagine if we got a sack full of players that had Steven Gerrard's inspiration, Dirk Kuyt's workrate, Harry Kewell's long ball, Fernando Torres' skill, Jamie Carragher's last line defence and Mascherano's central midfield defending..... Fifteen of them and I'd be happy

A lot of that team is just not good enough, Aureilio was awful today, Kuyt showed some good parts of his game but they were quickly overshadowed by his inability to control a ball, Kewell is rubbish - no fight, pace or ideas there at the moment. We will not win the league in the next three years the way things are going. We can balme G&H, even GH, but we the fans have to take the blame, we demand too much.

We the fans have expected us to compete for the last 3 seasons, and so without the funds we have had to best the second best - players such as Pennant & Kuyt rather than spend the few extra million and by quality that would be able to get into the top sides in the prem.  As a team we are also saddled with some of Rafas deadwood.  This club is on the edge, it could easily all go wrong for us. No Champions League football and I think Gerrard, Torres, and a few others will quickly go out the door

I've been fearing that myself. If we dont make the champions league next season, then we will see who truly does have Liverpool in their blood.

This will show in the fans as well, I remember GH's last season, many empty seats around. All the 2005 crowd will soon :censored: off

Whether or not we make the champs league the players wont leave because it wont affect there wages and failing to qualify will prompt changes to ensure we qualify thereafter. I think failure to qualify for the champions league will see the end of rafa, despite the show of support.

Last season no arsenal fan thought they win it this season, finishing way off the pace from start to finish and losing their best ever player. My point, we need to keep working hard and stay focused we have young players who will improve like arsenals and if we lose a few glory hunters in the meantime good.

the arsenal kids showed far more potential.  they were beating prem sides in the carling cup.

I didnt say kids, i said young players that will continue to improve like Torres, Reina, Babble, Shrtle?, Agger,Mash ( if Hicks pulls his finger out his :censored: )Lucas, Arberloa add to that a few of the kids like El zar maybe Hobbs and others and then chuck in Gerrard and Alonso who are hardly old. You will start to see the benefit of Rafas transfer pollicy in the coming seasons, just like Wenger is reaping the rewards now.To catch up though and stop the rot Rafa needs money for 1st choise players.

Complete rubbish, bigger clubs offering Champions League football do attract players, look at Spurs now trying to hold on to the fella whose name I cannot spell.
How many players have came to us because we have consistantly offered CL football?

It is silly that we think 4th is 1st. Maybe failure would wake the players and fans up to show them how far off the pace we are.

I cannot believe that we thought we would do the league this year, we are hopeless.

Yes as I recall "support your local team" was that particular wind-up merchants mantra, almost inevitably of course signals that he was an Evertonian as their OOTer fan base is in direct proportion to the lack of success they've enjoyed historically. I don't remember much of what he posted that particular fella (it never is that memorable TBPH) but I have a hunch this is one and the same bloke. Could be wrong of course, he could be just a genuine Liverpool supporter who is completely devoid of any clue. I don't think so though, there is something in the turn of phrase and the odd offbeat perceptive comment which convinces me that despite the nonsense, there is something going on underneath.

I'm rarely wrong on these things. Definately a WUM.

Agreed. His mannerism is very bitter.
