he is the best option we have as a left sided mid

he isnt great but that says it all, because he is our best option

If he is our best option....then we must be in a worst state than i thought?. :oh:

Last season no arsenal fan thought they win it this season, finishing way off the pace from start to finish and losing their best ever player. My point, we need to keep working hard and stay focused we have young players who will improve like arsenals and if we lose a few glory hunters in the meantime good.

the arsenal kids showed far more potential.  they were beating prem sides in the carling cup.

Mate my granny in a wheelchair would do more damage.Looks to me like hes playing in fear of getting injured again or hes afraid to wreck his hair!

Either way the fella shows no grit,no passion,no detrmination and to me is just to soft and not suited to the physical side of things!
Its no lie to say that lesser teams are building from the back up and there are plenty of rough and ready opponents willing to take kewell on.Hes just not tough enough to take it...in a word hes a woose!

It all comes down to lack of funds.  I bet we would not be much higher in the league with Fergie, Wenger, or Grant managing this group of players.  We simply need better quality players in the wide positions.

I agree, but we need quality players in ALL positions!....kuyt, voronin, not good enough...benayoun, sissoko, kewell not good enough....risse, aurello not good enough...all these players need to be shipped out and quality ones brought in.

If you were paying attention you'd have noticed that Arbeloa had picked up an injury and so NEEDED to be subbed off. It's hardly idiotic to replace an injured player is it?  :Oo:

We need a Santa Cruz..

But seriously, we played terrible. I don't know why people are having a go at Kuyt or Kewell, they were 2 of our better players.

The guys that needed to step up were Gerrard and Torres and they didn't. To be fair to Torres, he was being marked by 3 defenders and Laursen was being a piece of :censored: hack, but he had a few chances to get through and take the shot.

And was that a penalty late on? Torres' bicycle kick into the arm of the Aston Villa defender? (Can't remember who it was)

I agree with Number 9 that Kewell is a disgrace.  All of that money, effort and time that the club invested in him and this is what he shows for it.  He has been absolutely :censored:, he's got no more fight left in him and it seems he can't handle the physical side of the game anymore.  I hope the rumors about him leaving are true, because I don't want to see him anywhere near the first team again.

Kuyt's ball winning was magnificent, the only thing that let him down today was his shooting.

As for Kewell, he was fantastic when he returned, absolutely brilliant. Then he missed 3 matches in a row to be rested or something. He's just come back into the team today and didnt do any worse than Pennant, Yossi or Babel would have, or did do. I know Yossi scored (should've not have needed the follow up but anyway) but he didn't do too much for me and lost the ball too often. I remember Kewell's bad pass, thats how rare they were tonight.

Then again, it was 7am this morning so I may have missed something

All hail Masch's challenge to get him booked, I felt like doing that myself  :bowdown
