Also we would see how much rafa really loves the club or if he is just here for the CL games.

Well if that happened Rafa (in all likeliness) wouldn't be here the following season whether he wanted to or not.

aye true that any ways i think i phased that wrong any ways i think rafa does love the club i think he just dont love the prem.

My mistake  :sniffle

After that load of sh!te tonight, for the first time in years, I genuinely think we'll struggle to make 4th place. We're playing no better than Villa, Man C, Portsmouth, Blackburn and the blue sh!te - that's the reality. It's going to be a real FIGHT for 4th now and with that many teams going for it, we're going to do well to make it.

We will be OK once we snap out of this bliiiiiiiiip and once the players get their heads around the fact that they are in a scrap for fourth, and that that in itself is something worth getting out of bed for. Obviously they'll know that we are out of the title race, but it's a lot easier to be "up" for games when you are going for silverware that it is to get "up" for finishing fourth. This particularly applies when you are competing against a team like everton (who will surely be our closest rivals) for whom fourth place would be considered an unbelieveable achievement. They will be most definately "up" for every single game at the moment, and they have denied us before.

It really is imperative that we get back to winning ways fairly soon. Since to achieve that objective the rules of the game stipulate that you need to score more goals than the team you're playing against in order to achieve this, it might be time to consider an alternative to Kuyt. Soonish would be good, and we might even get really radical and consider playing the bloke who came off the bench tonight and scored. He does do that occasionally (I seem to remember him getting one in an FA Cup match as well recently on one of his rare appearances) and unlike Dirk, I reckon he might do it a little more often if he gets the opportunity. It's got to be worth a go surely? I'm not saying we've got to make friends or anything, just perhaps give him a go as we don't seem to have anyone else.

No, I read a lot but don't post much - just really disappointed with what's going on at the club and tonight's result.

You disagree with what I wrote then? Reckon we're going to storm 4th place no probs?

winless in the league in January, surely that pace cannot keep up, maybe out of this dyer situation, the owners can scrap some cash together to bring in somebody to score goals.

I am not so sure Mick, we have the distraction of the CL as well mate. If we go on a run in that we may well struggle in the league now. May boil down to if we can beat Everton at home and get a couple of decent results against the top sides away.

I think we will get 4th maybe even 3rd,probably sounds a tad to optomistic saying 3rd but Chelsea are'nt great either!
I just think we have more quality than Everton,City and Villa and it will show over the season.

At the start of the season we were all hoping we'd be fitting for the number one spot, now it looks like we'll be fighting for a C/L spot:(

Kinda brings it home, the gulf between us and the top 2!

I actually thought that there was no possible way for us to finish outside the top four, but I can actually now see it happen.

I am very worried...I have started an on-line petition, which I will forward to all G & H's known companies & every media outlet that I can think of.....show your displeasure at our owners by signing the petition....

I think there is going to be that many petitions that they wont be taken seriously at all. Find the main one and just direct everybody to that one, the one that will have an influence.

I think over the season we should do it, I still believe Agger is a major plus when he comes back, the whole team dynamic will change. I do believe we will pull away from Villa (small squad), Man City (hit the wall of late) and maybe Everton, although they are looking strong with a few key players to return. Moyes has set them up solidly enough to stay top 6 - don't bleat on about the games against the big teams, we need to pick points up full stop against sides we should be beating

What frustrates the hell out of me is with only lost twice in the league.  Which is one less then Mancs and yet we are fifth and 14 points behind
