far to often.  All our defenders waste posession by just hitting forward and not enough of them actually are comfortable on the ball and want to take posession.  However if they are not told to use the ball better in training then things will never change.

Just listening to 5live and I am new at posting on here so please let me know what you think...?

But what made join and post was something Mark Lawro said and this shocked me...
''think of the top three and what Liverpool players would get in ''their'' teams'' and the reply was 3 Stevie G - Torres and J Carragher ...  I was dumbstruck .. and the more I thought about it the more I started to worry and perhaps they are right ... I am the most postive person you would meet but now perhaps it is dawning on me.. now I am not Mr gloom and doom but can someone argue back and tell me I am wrong ... please tell me I am PLEASE

The terrible irony is I would welcome a manager right now who would instill confidence and freedom into the team such as Klinsmann! I hate to say it but I honestly believe that (biting my tongue as I say it) Fergie and certainly Wenger would win the league with our squad :(

I would disagree with you with our team full of quality.

our team is full of rubbish players.

Its easy to put the blame on kuyt but at times the rest of the team look as helpless as he does when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net. It really is a concern that we are becoming more of a 2 man club, if Gerrard or Torres are not playing well we are well and truly stuffed.

better then the season before we was a 1 man club if gerrard didnt do fu.ck al we didnt play well still an improvement if u look at it that way but bottom line we played well for 50 mins then was total gob sh!t

I aint sure about that. I think we should be challenging but win it?  We dont have the same quality all over the park that the top 3 have. We lack top class wingers on both sides.  No matter what manager would be in charge they can only do so much with the likes of kewell, Yossi and Pennant.  We only have 1 genuine WC Striker.  We lack quality full backs who can offer a genuine attacking threat.  We lack pace at Centre Half.  We have a lot flaws in our side however we still should be closer to the top!!!

Match ratings:

Reina 6
Did not save a single ball. First goal is not impossible to save. Second goal is a freak goal. Decent distribution.

Arbeloa 7
I do think he had a good game. Ventured forward a bit and controlled Ashley Young. Good passing

Carragher 6
Defensively solid. But his passing and creativity is poor. In games like this you have to create and destroy.

Hyypia 7+
Really good game. Not challenged on pace and plenty of good intyerceptions. His best game in two years.

Aurelio 5
Not his best game. Lost the ball and gave away possession easy.

Benayoun 6
1 point for a nice goal. 5 points for a disappointing game. He is unpredictable and he can score goals. But he is not a winger john barnes style. Not even close.

Mascherano 8
What a player. I think the yanks will let him go because of their lack of footballing knowledge. A player like this comes only one time in 50 years. He is the best defensive midfielder in the world.

Gerrard 7-
Average game by his standards. Controlled midfield alongside Masch.

Kewell 1
The worst player on the pitch. I have not seen a worse player in a liverpool shirt. Even Meijer, Babb, Thomas and the likes played better for us. A nobody. A sissy. A friggin girl with no skill. I am shocked 10 ties over by his extrtemely low standards. I can not say anything positive about him at all. Just by being on the pitch he lowers the morale of the 10 lions. His upper class I am the best attitude is pizzin me off. He is not running. He is not fighting. He is not LFC. Is he a bluenose? He might as well be because he is destroying LFC from within.

Kuit 2
One point for a nice pass to Benayoun. 1 point for his "efforts" 0 points for his quality. I think my uncle of 69 years could have scored on that chance. A dreadful 1st touch and a horrible shot. Summing up his qualities.

Torres 5
Not his day. Who can blame him playing with Kuit and Kewell. All defenders concentrate on him 100 %. Kicking him all over the place. He is the only threath and I am really surprised he is not injured. He gets no help.  Absolutely no help from the others.

I dont know what Mancini must of thought of that but we really need to step it up if we want to beat Inter Milan.  Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in the form of his life and probably the best striker in Europe at the moment. They are unbeaten in the league and we really got to perform better if we want to beat them over 2 legs.

Jesus people talk some sh!t on here sometimes. The team is made up of very good players, we have very good players on the bench as well. As it happens however, we aren't playing very well at the moment. This doesn't mean the players are sh!t, it simply means that as a team we are lacking confidence, and as a bi-product of that situation we are playing without any fluency and cohesion.

Now the reasons we aren't playing well, or are playing without confidence are many and varied. They have been debated at length throughout the last few months, and it's upto the fan concerned how much importance he puts on Pako leaving/rotation/the lying Yank c...s, injuries etc etc etc. The players aren't sh!t though, we don't need to get rid of half the squad, we don't need to drop Gerrard and people need to calm down.

Villa have lost one of the last fifteen or something equally incredible in all competitions. We didn't win the game and we didn't play great, but with all what's been going on at the club recently it's hardly the biggest surprise in the World. Some people need to grow up.
