I can understand the drivers license part, because you could injure/kill people on the road if you don't know how to drive or if you are known to be a drunk driver

Have you never been charged with being drunk in charge of a TV Joe?

We have to pay a licence to the BBC to watch tv, even if we NEVER watch BBC. Strange but true.

and on top of this you have to pay for the service as well?

Much better. :D

Actually, whilst we're on the subject of getting stuff off your chest, what is it with house prices?

How can a sh*tty little terraced house be worth £120k? What planet are Estate Agents from?

W*nkers.

Jesus this country Joe... it bleeds you to death.  Any kind of enjoyment is taxed and is always increased yearly.

fuel... everybody uses fuel so everything else is hiked up.  Fuel never goes down in price even if the cost of a barrel of oil drops

booze... everytime fuel goes up transport costs go up and the brewery's hike up the costs of booze

cigs... get absolutely hammered in every yearly budget the tax on cigs probably pays a fair percentage towards our health service

tv license... a rip off - apparently the BBC don't do adverts but they're always advertising their own merchandise like DVD's n books... it stinks

road tax... I wouldn't mind paying this if it all went to building better roads... but now we're starting to get toll roads - one or the other FFS

traffic speed cameras everywhere

traffic wardens everywhere earning the local councils huge sums of money... congestion zone charges in London and probably soon to be in all the major cities

The list is endless... the yearly cost of running a car is frightening.

:D Jesus Christ

Housing!!! I would love to move but it just ain't worth going into humungous debt with all the stress that would entail.  My missus asked me to go and view a house recently only £279,000 FFS... she must be on drugs.... obviously I said "NO"

It's shocking.

I am almost certain that the market will crash sooner rather than later.

It is not just England though. In Dublin the cheapest 2 bed apt wil be Euro 350k (about STG£250k), and that is the cheapest.....

In the last 24 hourse we've released (after 3 years) a young man who admitted strangling a 12 year old to death, released a paedo due to some legal loophole and didn't sentance to jail a woman who killed her teenage daughter as she was found to be insane (the fact that she worked as a psychiatrist and therefore would know how to be legally mad helps).

A mannequin manufacturer is attaching warning stickers to its shop dummies - after a man mistook one for a sex doll and got his penis stuck.
The 31-year-old - who cannot be named for legal reasons - bought the female bust from the Displaysense online store for £38. But he got more than he bargained for when he trapped his manhood inside a 24mm hole designed for a display stand.

The pervert from Doncaster, South Yorks, was left in a tight situation and feared he may have had to call out the fire service to help free him.

Luckily, he managed to waddle into his kitchen with the plastic dummy still attached, grab a pair of scissors and release himself-giving new meaning to the phrase 'I'm free!'

Rather than keeping quiet about the embarrassing episode though, the fuming punter then rang up Displaysense to COMPLAIN.

The company's sales team were forced to stifle their laughter as the man blasted the product's "user friendliness" and demanded a refund.

Steve Whittle, marketing manager, said they were now considering issuing the mannequins-used by a number of high street stores-with warnings to prevent any repeat.

He said: "These busts are for display purposes only and no-where on the website or in the products packaging does it state that they should be used for adult means.

"During the phone call the gentleman in question demanded a refund on the now dismantled female bust at which point the refund request was politely refused.

"He had purchased the display bust by accident after mistaking it for an adult toy.

"Due to the durability of the display bust, he became concerned that the fire brigade would need to be called to liberate him.

"But thankfully, a pair of heavy duty scissors were able to cut apart the female bust to release him and relieve his delicate area.

"After freeing himself, he made an angry call to us to complain about the user friendliness of the female bust and that it was not what he had ordered.

"The fact that one of our display busts has been used in an unusual fashion has stunned and embarrassed the entire sales team.

"We've just added these busts to our range and we normally expect some initial teething problems but not in our 30 years of business have we experienced such an incident.

"We are now going to place a warning on the new display bust section to prevent such ludicrous situations from happening again.

"It's so bizarre that we have to warn people that our mannequins are for display use only and not for recreational use."

I'd some religous guy call to my house and said he was from the baptist church - he seemed offended when I politely said that I'm an atheist.

He gave me a little card - basically explaining why I'm going to burn in hell for eternity (which seems like a long time) . He ended by saying that he prays that I find god and then seemed offended when I said that I hope he realises one day that there is no god.

Why do they think it is okay for them to try and convert you to their beliefs but not okay for you to try to convert them to yours.

Of course I took the higher moral ground and spread rumours that he is a kiddie fiddler :D

"the paper that cannot be named" has been all over the media with the Amy Winehouse "scandal" "world exclusive" shite.

Heeeeelllllloooooo we all knew she was on drugs anyway and that she needs help but character assassination is what british press do best - especially the super soaraway shit.  They wont be happy until she's dead and then they'll be giving free cd's of her hits away in their sunday supplements.

And another thing...

The only death that caught the media by surprise was that of Diana but look at the way they've made up for it over the last 10 years or so.  I aint interested in the royal family and wished they'd just disappear off the face of the earth but give this girl (and her sons) a break ffs... this court case going on into her death is ridiculous and the royal arse-licking Daily Mail is loving it.
