I agree you with Nanny. I do not think that Rafa is going nowhere.

Rafa will stick it out and the owners will not sack him as they know the uprise that will occur from the Liverpool FC fanbase.

He is probably one of the bigger high profile names in football management in America, at least to Americans who only very casually follow football, because he was linked with the National Team job when Bob Bradley (who is doing a very good job) was only an interim manager

If Americans, and more specifically our owners, know jack shit about hiring a football manager then why invest in a football club?

This club is not a Billionaire's plaything, it's not a small project, it's the most successful club in England and a highly sensitive business. In any type of business, let alone one that commands such prestige and turns over millions p/a, you do your research thoroughly before taking any decisions - again LET ALONE a decision of such significance. Attempting to hire Klinnsmann on any type of deal demonstrates that they clearly haven't done their research and have an acute lack of knowledge concerning European football, which is worrying for the future of the club. That is why there is such hysteria. It comes back to the questions we all posed immediately prior to, and just after their takeover; 'Do these guys really have sufficient understanding of the game, of the fans. Have they done their research, are they prepared, and will they give the club their absolute attention and focus?'

It would appear not, and that is why most supporters are concerned.

This is not America, this is not Baseball, Ice Hockey, Basketball or Lacrosse. What may work, or what may be the process of hiring managers in America does not necessarily work in England. The same applies to every other decision making process.

On the point concerning Madrid; Rafa rejected them twice, he has re-iterated his desire to stay with us time and time again. He's declared in the past that he's had offers to manage at other clubs for significantly more pay. I DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE, I LOVE MY CLUB, MY SUPPORTERS, MY CITY. There is your line of communication Mr Hicks and Mr Gillett. Why they approached Klinnsmann and then used the 'Rafa may have left us' justification, is beyond me. If you want to quanitify the possibility that Rafa may have walked, see his comments and his actions - they are enough to conclude that the possibility of him leaving of his volition was very, very slim.

It's Martin Jol at Tottenham all over again. unless we go on a serious run i can't see the manager lasting the season. He'll walk

Good explanation, and, if it makes you feel better, I was another one of those who said it was all rubbish. I was wrong. I could never expect the yank coming with something like this.

Joe, if the real intention was to dispell the doubts, and after watching the reactions, they should do inmediatly three things this week

a) Saying they back him totally with words
b) Saying they back him totally with financial muscle for players
c) Trying to explain that their intention was to dispell doubts and they simply didn't find a proper way to do it and apologising for that.

agreed... it's pure BS... if they don't want to be caught with their pants down... fair enough, approach some potential successors...I'm all about planning ahead and stuff... but WHY reveal this in the press now? this act is nothing but undermining the current manager...
