I am pretty amused.. It seems to happen very often when Rafa is manager... Most of the players came to Liverpool with decent potential. They started well but soon "develop" into mediocrity.
My take is Rafa tries to mould all the players too much. He wants them to be the type of players he wants which in the end resulted in players not able to develop their full potential. Secondly, because of the moulding all the players are basically very similar in traits.. A striker is also a midfielder and defender. So now the players, they can't pass well, can't dribble well, and lack of creative ideas during attack. most players built on bulk but lost dexterity. Only one or two of the newer players still have it in them.
Rafa keeps saying we need a few more players to challange the title.. He wants to buy players that offers options. But we already have a lot of options in the team. What we need is not just options. He keeps moulding the players those options will not help us. What we need are players that offer a different dimension to our game play. Unleash those newer players and let them play the best way they can and adopt tactics around them. With a new dimension to our game coupled with options on the field, we can win difficult games.
