Top of the fair play league anyway

January 2, 2008
Rank Team          Yellow  Red   Points
1 Liverpool          24     0      24
2 Everton            20     3      26
3 Man Utd           27     1      29
4 Derby              32     0      32
5 Tottenham        34     1      36
6 Newcastle         38     0      38
Reading              30     4      38
Wigan                34     2      38
Birmingham         38     0      38
10 Man City         36     2      40
Arsenal              36     2      40
12 Portsmouth      40     1      42
West Ham           42     0      42
14 Sunderland       36     4      44
Aston Villa          38     3      44
16 Bolton             45     0      45
17 Middlesbroug    46     0      46
18 Fulham            38     5      48
19 Chelsea           42     5      52
20 Blackburn         43     5      53

No surprise to see Blackburn and Chelsea at the bottom, cheating kunts.

I sometimes wonder if we arn't a bit too nice, and that if we had a player (or two) that "got stuck in" a bit more we might see the benefits. Mascherano, Sissoko and Gerrard all know how to put a bit of bite in a tackle but we haven't had a player that puts the fear of god into the opposition(from a physical point of view) for a long time now.

Even our back four is hardly intimidating, and Sami has probably fewer booking than any other CB over the last few years.

We seem to be always top of the fair play league or thereabouts.

Mascha's a good tackler, and Momo a clumbsey one. I'd be scared of Momo if he came flying in on me, I'd be frightened of loosing one of me testies.

But as for a hard man, I think football has gone to soft for them now, imagine having Souness playing for us now. The F.A would deem him insane, and ban him every month of the bleeding footballing calender.

Even Carra is hardly intimidating. I was watching an interview with Steve Heighway the other night (old one) and he was saying that it always made him more relaxed when Smith was playing because he knew that if he got chopped down, by the time he got up Smith would be stood over him telling the offender just what he was going to do to him if he did it again

Not saying they didnt Leon mate but Joey wassnt the most accomplished ball player and some of the tackles he did make we all used to laugh at . He played with his heart on his sleeve and would die for that red shirt but a great ball winner no

When you see this table in any country normally the first placed in the table is not the champion of the league, so particularly I don't like this table too much.

It's a good sign and talks well about the players' concentration and discipline when you don't receive many red cards, but I wouldn't mind if we were a bit more aggresive when it comes to some tackles and we had some more yellows.

Thats true s@int, but he did some tackles in some games this season that looked intimidating (ex. Everton) and got away with it, maybe sometimes our players do play a bit nasty but hide it away from the ref (in the case of Bolton with Big fat Sam).

That was cruel mate, I fell for that one hook line and sinker when we signed him. In fact I think the last "real" bet I ever had was on us winning the league the season he came  :(
