Today was extremely, extremely disappointing. Can't believe that Dirk Kuyt lasted 90 minutes. The guy's confidence is clearly on the floor and he may be suffering with grief following the death of his father but surely to God he should have been sacrificed before Babel? The only players to do well today were Carragher and Hyppia in central defence. The rest were average to poor. The reality of the situation is that we are getting worse. Drawing at home to the likes of Birmingham and Wigan while losing away to Reading is bad enough but drawing away to a club whose players haven't been paid recently? That's just not good enough IMO. The football we are watching of late is absolutely atrocious also. We go to the games expecting to be entertained but leave with a huge sense of frustration and on many occasions, anger. Okay, it is true to say that Rafa is shopping in the equivalent of Tesco with Grant and Ferguson in Harrods but there are some players in the squad at the moment not fit to wear the shirt. Kewell and Benayoun are too lightweight and Kewell doesn't give a toss in any event, Voronin looks overweight and disinterested and did you see the state of him today, shivering and whimpering when he came on? WTF?? He comes from the Ukraine for Christ sake. If that was me waiting to get on for Liverpool, in an FA Cup tie, I would be raring to go. Dirk Kuyt's form is abysmal while Riise has been septic for a while now. There are three options as I see them. A - the Americans back Benitez publicly and give him the cash to make us competitive. B - they sack him and bring in somebody who will be given the cash. C - they get the hell out of there themselves. Meanwhile, Manchester United wrap up their 17th league title to go within one of us while we are getting our house in order (yet again). It's ridiculous and even though I have been a Rafa fan for a long time now, I am becoming increasingly disillusioned. His rotation policy is really beginning to grate and the style of football is horrible. i.e. long punts forward from Carragher, Hyppia and Riise. If we didn't have Torres, we would be a mid-table team this season and that's a fact. Him and Gerrard are our only two matchwinners whereas Chelsea, Arsenal and United have class all over the pitch. We're just not good enough and be honest with yourselves here. Are we any closer to winning the title now than when Benitez took over? No.

was terrible to watch that today....nobody was playing with their hearts and the performance was :censored:

the worst times are when drama behind the scenes effects the performance on the pitch, and thats happening now and something needs to be done to fix it. cos whats happening now ain't helping our club.........true its only one game, but its another one game which is starting to add up a bit too much now!
im usually mr.sunshine, and keep waiting for the consistancy we've been longing for in the premiership. this season was the perfect start, but the players AND management AND chairmen need to get their heads outta their :censored:

and make something outta this season. im confident we'll win something still....

but how u can compare rafa and wenger i do not know one is far better and you know its wenger.

Dif between rafa and wenger is hardly no one would say wenger is :censored:

i wouldnt want him managing my club but i feel alot more would say that about rafa.

i wanted us to challenge this year, rafa has had the money to spend and there was no reason why we shouldnt challenge

it hasnt happend and rafa must go in the summer if things dont drastically improve

We have a decent enough squad .... not the best but not great !!!

do you understand what he meens by footballing he meens how we play not the results we are dire at best of times and get alot of goals from set pieces i say on footballing terms we are prob around about 8th in league.

Teams tha i say play better passing game then us and movement are

Mancs
Arsenal
spurs
aston villa
chavs ~(but not consistent)
luton ( )
everton ( )
Even west ham

everton pains me say they look to play attacking attractive football most of time we look like we go out for a draw.

Good thing we've beaten all of them under Rafa then, eh?

so you couldnt tell us a secound ago how many times wenger won the proem but now you know his rafas and fergies finishes in 1st 3 seasons and you say u didnt search for it in some form . ?

Moving on..... I am starting to get a little worried about the number of times we are taking the lead in games and then allowing teams to come back at us. I can't remember when we have had as bad a season as this one for that. Chelsea ,Arsenal ,Spurs , Wigan, Luton and then all the games were we scored first, then they came back, before we eventually crushed them Villa, Reading (lc), Cardiff, Porto, Derby.

Usually when we score first, its game over, but this season we just haven't been able to close the door as usual.

sorry to bust up the little ding dong here, but lets get back on topic. I'll be honest I havent read all twenty odd pages but here is my tuppence about todays match.

Will the real Liverpool please stand up?

We have a great squad of players and a manager who is being followed by all the top clubs in Europe, so how come Luton battered us?? We are lucky still to be in the FA cup today, Luton deserved to win and not just because they battled better than us, but because they passed better, worked as a team better and really created the better chances.

In all my years I have never seen a Liverpool team play so badly. Jamie Carragher was the only player who could put his hand on his heart and say "you know what I did ok today".. the rest of them should be ashamed.

So whats the reason?? We don't suddenly become a bad team and lets face it the line up was a good one, this wasn't a Liverpool reserve team, it was packed full of class. Carragher, Finnan, Hypia, Alonso, Lucas, Crouch. and the rest of them are hardly :censored:

! It looked to me like we just didn't want it. Did we win a single 50/50 ball? I have never seen so many passes go astray. Are the players starting to get caught up in the media frenzy about whether Benitez is resigning/getting sacked. Is Rafa setting the team up wrong? Can he no longer motivate a talented squad? Was it just bad day at the office?

I don't know any more what to think but one thing is for sure, if things do not improve on the pitch soon, we will need to look for another manager, coz at the end of the day this is a results game and at the moment we are not getting the results, and to make it even worse we are not even playing well against opposition we should be blowing away.
