Does that mean that we are paying him for nothing? That when we won the CL he had nothing to do with that performance either?

On second thoughts maybe he didn't ...... MAYBE IT WAS PACO

yes i find it very funny how since paco left we have gone tits up mabye paco was the shadow manager at club and rafa was his muppet errrr i meen puppet.

I take it we didn't go unbeaten then this season?

I take it we didn't w*nker teams all over the park?

You're a f*cking prune at times lad.

and your not?

Why are you here, c*nt?

Is it to moan and whine about things you obviously don't understand?

If you're a Liverpool fan, you stick up for your club - end of.

to be fair we were :censored: today and some of the decissons rafa made didnt work out
but nobody is perfect and at the end of the day we will just have to beat them at anfield whitch i expect us to do

todays game just goes to show how important torres and gerrard are to our team and why rafa should be given more money to bring in world beaters

I agree with Lando.

This was and FA cup game that meant everything for Luton this season and Rafa rested our best players(which in turn hurt us more than Rafa wants to admit).

They fought for every inch on the field and deserved the draw. But once at Anfield Luton have had their fun and it'll be a comfortable win.

If there are positives to take out from such a game, I see some.

Like for every game that goes by and one more game for kuyt to show everyone what a shower of ***** he really is.
Absolutely zero ability and I'm just begging Rafa to take of his glasses in this case. Morientes was a failure in the PL, as were Gonzalez. They went pretty quickly. I put Kuyt in the exact same category. I'm not saying Voronin is much better, but:

1) he has only been here half a season and isn't Rafa's 1st choice all the time. Voronin is our 4th striker, get the least time and therefore I expect production of a 4th striker.
Kuyt has played more minutes than any other striker that past 2 seasons and is showing game after game what an offensive non-factor he is. Only way to make him look half decent is to let him take the penalties(which he never creates himself)

2) Since Voronin is our 4th choice and was brought on a free transfer he would fetch at most around £2 million. Kuyt who gets worth less every game would at least bring back £5(million). And selling 2 strikers at the same time makes no sense.

I am not as surprised this season as many others who believe our squad is so great and every one of them is practically world class.
Only players with good enough footballing ability and useful for the future are:

Reina
Torres
Gerrard
Mash
Alonso
Babel
Carra
Agger
Lucas

That is 9 players out a squad of 20-24. The rest are just not good enough to be in a squad fighting for the title.
I do not at all agree with those saying this squad is soo good.
Yes, it is so much better than when Rafa took over, but by that time Houllier had run us to the ground.
So unless Rafa got the Wenger genes and somehow manages to find good or world class players around every corner for 2p, he has done a fantastic job with the resources at his disposal. But if you got a team consisting of utter trash like he had when he arrived and little money, there is no way you can put all eggs in one basket and buy one "world class player" for 20 million and nothing else. What does that help the team? Very little overall. Not to talk about an injury to that player.

So since Rafa is a great manager, but no magician, the only way is nice and slow, as long as the funds aren't there.
To catch Manure right now and here at least 3 world class players is needed= at least £50 million. That is the truth. And no more net spend of 20 million each season. That= fight for 4th each season.

And no, I do not believe anyone would do better than rafa and few as good as him.

And no, I do not believe it is our god given right to win the title because of our great history. it's one thing to be proud of it and another thing to be blinded by it. This is now and not the 70's and 80's. The footballing landscape is totally different and until recently we have stood still basking in our past glory instead of agressivly promoting our great club around the world, getting a stadium that would compete with out rivals. Always just pushed it on the future when it will be even harder.

That team he got from Houllier..... Carra, Hyypia, Riise, Finnan, Kewell. 4 of them played today mate, and they were probably the best players we had on the field.(ok lets forget Riise  :D  )

**** Taken from Shanklyboy on RAWK ****

You all should be ashamed of yourselves.
You are like vultures hovering over a prospective corpse.

Rafa Benitez has brought more dignity to our club and 'The Greatest supporters in the World' in 3 1/2 years than you could only have ever hoped for in your wildest dreams. The respect that took us generations to earn in world football has been returned to us after years of mediocrity.
How are some of us repaying the man?
We are debating the merits of his successor;men like Klinsmann, Mourinho and O'Neill.

What in Gods name has happened to our support?
What have we become? A bickering mass of whingeing, bitter, self centred hypocrites.
We have turned Anfield into a place I don’t recognise at times. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that our home form has suffered as the atmosphere has plummeted and the bile has increased.

Here's a man who is restructuring our club from the basement upwards. Who has given us a small taste of what he is capable of achieving. I imagine if we win the Champions League and the F.A Cup this season, it won’t be enough for many on here. Only the league matters right now doesn’t it?

I used to laugh at the obsession Man Utd fans had with us and their holy grail. I laughed for 27 years. Now we are becoming a parody of them.

Benitez, his wife and family have shown us great respect and commitment in their short time with us.
Their love of the club and it’s fans , the City and it’s people have been genuine and unwavering.
Maybe  it’s time to show a little more dignity and respect ourselves.

********************

I was going to make a full post, but I just read this, and I really can't think of anything to add.  Spot on.

That's bang on the money, and if people don't like how I tell it - read this instead.

You bunch of crying nancy f*ckwits.

but we play sh  it football i rather lose more and play more attacking flowing football if you are happy playing this football i dont know how the hell you followed liverpool before rafa joined us this type of football is very unlike liverpool and if you had any know how about the club i think you would be more upset lando.

Plus insults seem to be your strength you seem liek you be a good fan of a club like man u.

You came at me with the insults, pal. Would you pull a lion's tail and expect it not to bite your head off?

This is not 1987, you gimp. The gulf in class is no longer as big as it was back then, where we could go to Tottenham (second in the league at that point) and bitch-slap them with a cricket score.

I take it 8-0 Vs Besiktas, 6-0 Vs Derby, 4-0 vs Bolton, Marsaille and Toulouse, 3-0 Vs Newcastle, 4-1 vs Portsmouth and 4-1 vs Porto were all boring, rubbish matches where our play was utter garbage?

See what I mean? You lot have very poor memories.

I think those of you who are in the over-reactionary anti-Rafa camp should remove any kind of signature or avatar of the man that you may have.

I'm not one to give out protracted reasons for the reasons why we played so poor, so in simple terms we need better quality up front  and out wide. End of.

Oh, and Andy Gray is the biggest c0ck sucker this side of the west![. He was near coming in his trunks when Riise put the OG in.

with the Americans at the top , every two years will be do or die as our manager. if we get into the top 2 this year but then come 3rd the year after the Americans will see it as the manager is not doing his job, they dont care that it might be a lucky goal that cost us 2nd place.

its money money money.

Americans need to be the best at all they do, That is why football is still not that big out there as they are not that good.

I am sure if they won the world cup then overnight it would be there no1 sport.

I agree with this, but then - it's not Rafa's fault we've been bought out by a couple of tw*ts who see dollars rather than facts.
