yes i know i will get stick for that.

Think yourself lucky you're not within striking distance.

How the f*ck was that Rafa's fault?

1/ HE PICKED THE TEAM

2/HE'S THE ONE THATS SUPPOSED TO MOTIVATE THEM

3/HE PICKS THE TACTICS (if we had any)

4/HE BOUGHT KUYT

5/WE DIDN'T WIN SO ITS HIS FAULT   :D

Yep, you're absolutely right - he was on the pitch and just played W*nk, didn't he?

Rafa scored the own goal.

Rafa made the strikers play sh*t.

Rafa gave Luton the energy to give a performance above themselves.

Rafa, Rafa, Rafa.

You're beginning to sound like a broken record mate. Face facts - managers can't do a f*cking thing about players having off-days once they're on the pitch.

All eleven of them ? One or two having a bad day is one thing, all eleven having a bad day means there is a problem. Either all the newspaper reports are getting to them OR RAFA DIDNT DO HIS JOB. That doesn't mean the players are absolved of all blame, just that the buck and the responsibility rest with Rafa.

Fine - blame the boss. I'm sick and tired of defending the bloke against ingrates.

to say we are ingrates for think the team is playing bad is bang out of order i think you have delusions of grandeur lando wake up man rafa isnt doing his job well every on one can see this but you i think mabye cos you have your head so far up his bum hole , mabye this is only reason ?

World famine? No.

Wars in Afghanistan? No.

Homeless women forced into prostitution? No.

Let's all cry because you're embarrassed to talk to your friends on MSN. :no

its people like you that i hate makin comments.....im just expressing my feelings....is that a crime?? should i lie to you and say im delighted?

No, but a sense of realism might not go astray.

Overreactions don't do anyone any good.

Lando no disrespect mate but sometimes you speak like your lips are stuck firmly around on Rafa's c0ck, every supporter agrees to disagree just let people be without all the degrading and sarcastic comments.

Think what you like mate - I will stick up for anyone I feel is getting unfair critisism.

And I hardly wen to town on the poor cherub, did I?

:D  See Lando you can't help yourself mate, and who sticks up for the people you absolutely destroy with vicious vocabulary and witty sarcasm?.

If people can't take a joke, they shouldn't be on here.

hmmm....im not sure whats funny about wars and prostitution.....but hey...

You have to be realistic about this whole Rafa situation, but personally I don't think he'll be at Anfield in the summer, that is not me judging Rafa but predicting what the Americans will do, so far we haven't played well in the league, been knocked out the carling cup, struggled and just about scraped through a VERY POOR champions league group and scraped an FA cup reply against LUTON!

Benitez has had nearly 4 years here and although I don't expect the league in 5 minutes I do expect us to be at least in touching distance at the end of the season, but so far he's done no more than Houllier did, and it's not as though we get to watch entertaining football :(

Its not just an off day though is it. There has been many a time this season where we have been average.  The football is poor.  Our league position tells u that we havent been great this year.  Our form in the CL has also been patchy.  Ultimate responsibility lies with the Manager.

But we ARE talking about a one-off performance.

And we were unbeaten for months, we have qualified for the lat 16 of the Champions' League, and should we win our game in hand, we'll be back in 4th.

Not the end of the World, really, is it?

Not the end of the world but is it acceptable?  I think after 4 years the team should be doing better.

That's because you're impatient and unrealistic.

or because its the truth?
we should be doing better...its not unrealistic and its not impatient with the gap from last winning the title.

But that's the problem with 9/10th of the Rafa-bashers. Your enduring arguement is "It's been 18 years since we won the title...".

How is that Rafa's fault? Did he take over the reigns from Dalglish?

Because he picked them, he bought them, he trained them, he motivated them, he told them what tactics to use. FFS Lando so Rafa Benitez had nothing to do with the performance? Does that mean that we are paying him for nothing? That when we won the CL he had nothing to do with that performance either?

So after 4 years we shouldnt be in the title race beyond January?  I think expecting the side to at least stay in the race for an extended amount of time is more than realistic.

Is it mathematically possible for us to win the Premiership?

Plenty of teams can say mathematically they can still win it?  We aint gonna win it.  Where not even in the race. We cant beat any of the top sides in league games either but hey thats progress.

18 years, we should have been able to get a manager that could pick a team to win the prem.

To many ifs and buts. If we win our game in hand we will be blah blah. That what we said before the WIgan game. The point is we dont get the results when we need to. Well be saying ifs and buts this time next year probably.

Man U drew 0-0 with Burton Albion two seasons ago. Don't remember that being a snapshot of a wider decline at their club.

Get a f*cking grip and doff your caps to the opposition. Luton gave us a real game in that same competition two years back, and for a squad of players under enormous financial pressure both this was the highlight of their season.

Yes, we were incredibly poor. But for f*ck's sake it's the FA Cup and anyone with any knowledge that goes pre-Championship Manager knows that it's a competition which players that don't have a building dedicated to their vast array of silverware are proud to play in. That the top 3 or 4 sides use it as an opportunity to rest players and field reserve goalkeepers is a shame, of course it is, but let's just show a bit of f*cking humility and rightly observe that they brought us to their home stadium and they more than stood toe-to-toe with us.

A replay is a game we can do without and Rafa and the lads will hopefully learn from that. We're still in the FA Cup, and when everything's said and done our season is completely unaltered regardless of how poorly we performed.

Perhaps the reason everybody wants to blame the boss is because we know there is a chance he might be sacked anyway - which would be a terrible, terrible step backwards.  Maybe people are trying to justify the decision before it happens so that they can feel better about themselves?  That's the only possible reason I can think of for people turning on Rafa like we're :censored: Newcastle fans.

**** Taken from Shanklyboy on RAWK ****

You all should be ashamed of yourselves.
You are like vultures hovering over a prospective corpse.

Rafa Benitez has brought more dignity to our club and 'The Greatest supporters in the World' in 3 1/2 years than you could only have ever hoped for in your wildest dreams. The respect that took us generations to earn in world football has been returned to us after years of mediocrity.
How are some of us repaying the man?
We are debating the merits of his successor;men like Klinsmann, Mourinho and O'Neill.

What in Gods name has happened to our support?
What have we become? A bickering mass of whingeing, bitter, self centred hypocrites.
We have turned Anfield into a place I don’t recognise at times. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that our home form has suffered as the atmosphere has plummeted and the bile has increased.

Here's a man who is restructuring our club from the basement upwards. Who has given us a small taste of what he is capable of achieving. I imagine if we win the Champions League and the F.A Cup this season, it won’t be enough for many on here. Only the league matters right now doesn’t it?

I used to laugh at the obsession Man Utd fans had with us and their holy grail. I laughed for 27 years. Now we are becoming a parody of them.

Benitez, his wife and family have shown us great respect and commitment in their short time with us.
Their love of the club and it’s fans , the City and it’s people have been genuine and unwavering.
Maybe  it’s time to show a little more dignity and respect ourselves.

********************

I was going to make a full post, but I just read this, and I really can't think of anything to add.  Spot on.

Listen here, you grotty little w*nker - if you insist on jumping into a conversation that doesn't involve you, at least have the decency to get your accusations correct.

I am saying people are ungrateful for what Rafa has brought to this club.

Without him:

We would not have won number 5 in Istanbul.

We would not have kept Gerrard.

We would not have Won the FA Cup.

We would not have reached Athens last season.

We would not have signed Torres.

Or Reina.

Or Alonso.

Or Mascherano.

Or Agger.

Or Arbeloa.

Or Luis Garcia.

Or any of the other players attracted to this club purely because of Rafael Benitez.

So I say again - I am tired of defending the bloke from vermin like you.
