Getting the sun to apologise - bbc documentary

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Hi,

I'm writing from the BBC Everyman documentary series where we're making a program about forgiveness. As part of this we're covering the Sun and their ridiculous and offensive coverage of the Hillsborough disaster, ie whether people from Liverpool could ever forgive the Sun for what it did. What I'm trying to track down is that copy of the Sun that we could use as part of the filming tomorrow (tuesday). If you have one or know someone who might have one could you give me a call, my name is

Nick Kennedy

It would really help and might get an apology out of them after all this time!

Thanks

Nick

To be honest, I'd be stunned if any fans on this forum still have an intact copy. I know of several people that set fire to their copies.

I see you've got a London phone number - why not try getting in touch with The Sun's archive dept? Failing that, the newspaper library in Colindale may be able to assist. Their details:

Newspaper Library (British Museum)
Colindale Avenue, NW9
Tel: 020 7412 7353

Good luck!

This is the trouble, a lot of people did destroy them! We can get a copy from the library, but it's not quite the same as being able to wave a real copy of it in the face of the sun assitant editor!

cheers for any help

I thought the Newspaper Library archived actual issues?

Failing that, try the archives of other newspapers. I'm sure the Mirror could find you a copy.

With all due respect to your post it wouldnt make any difference to me if anyone from that rag apologised. Even if it was by the people who used to work for them at the time.
