Had our manager chosen to leave in the summer, he could have picked almost any club from the many positions and opportunities waiting for him to walk in the door. Real Madrid had openly and frivilously tried to nab him.
Yet, here we are, what six months later - where it seems every decision, substitution, formation and more, are being criticized by some. Some of which who stand there,

We've signed prospects, plus the greatest striker at this club since Robbie Bernard Fowler.
And at a time where it seems that points 'might' have stumbled the outcome of our final position this season,
some of us seem to forget to look or hope for that 'golden sky'.

Top post that.
We cannot call ourselves the best supporters in the world when things are only going well . It's at times like these that we have to prove we're the best. Critisize all you like , but calling for the manager to be sacked is absolutely a fecking disgrace .
We are not Chelsea or tottenham or Madrid or barca or feckin Man u ,we are Liverpool football club and we are different we are special , we make the history that others teams can cry themselves to sleep at night and wish it was them . We don't throw in the towel and say , might aswell give up after half a season ,we keep going until it is impossible to win anything .
Only one European cup out of two finals ,only one FA cup won . I you want it all and you want it now , go and support Chelseas and yer might get your wish . If you want to stick around and be apart of the most knowledgable, respectful and down right loyal supporters in the world , go and give your face a slap and get your @rse into gear and give Rafa the respect and support he god damn well deserves.

We've got a much better side than we had last season, and crucially we've now got one of the best strikers in world football at our disposal - a far better base with which to go forward than the toothless frontline of last season.
Fine, so results have at times not gone our way, but look at our dominance in games against Chelsea, and this week against Wigan. Games we should have put to bed, but because of a couple of deficiencies that still need addressing, points were dropped, and they're making the table look worse than it probably should look. It's being interpreted as a crisis, when in fact the opposite is true. The table doesn't lie, it never does, but it exposes you when you're a team that gets 15 chances a game and can't put a 2nd goal away. It tells me everything we already know - we're good, but we don't have a mentality at the club these days where we make wins happen.
We're two or three players away from being a league-troubling side, which I'm bored of saying as much as I'm bored of hearing it, but then I look at the average age of the squad, and then I look at the Chelsea and Man U who both have plenty of players on their books either in their 30s or fast approaching them. Every season since Rafa arrived he's brought in players of real quality.
Now and always, I'll sing our anthem and mean it. Regardless of what the papers say, one thing I'm not is worried - I'm excited. Our time hasn't come yet, that much is clear. It's coming though, and it's going to be something to be around when it arrives.

Fergie talked about thye crass atmosphere at Ol trafford - you can't say that about Anfield ! Proud to be a Red, Pround of our world class manager - and looking forwrad to what could be !
Oh.. and thanks Leone for the thread - I hope the doom & gloom bregade post in the 100s of other such threads and leave us to believe and support in this one !

Is right.
I get the feeling that many people on here feel apologetic for supporting Liverpool. I can imagine them, upon being asked whom they support, shirking away and quietly saying "Liverpool".
Of course, the very same people would have shouted it from the rooftops on 26/05/2005.
But I digress:
I can't say that one person's choice of support level is right or wrong, as it's all about personal preference.
But some of the comments on here could quite easily get them a smack on the nose in a pub, or, worse still, labeled WUM Manc or Bitter fans.
"At the end of the storm, there's a golden sky":
This is what I'm looking for.

I don't want to ruin this thread as its nice to stay optimistic and our season is in no way over yet.
BUT.....I think we also need to be realistic as well. We have improved our team by £40million which works out at about £10million per point gained over last season up to this point.
We have bought one of the best strikers in the world, are supposedly creating 15 chances a game yet can't convert them?
If the mentality of the team is wrong..... who's fault is that?
We seem to be going backwards, a couple of seasons ago we "only needed a new RIGHT WINGER " now we are two or three players short again![]()
Great sentiments Leon and some great posts, but don't mistake sentiment for reality.

The thing is though mate, players who were good enough 2 years ago, might not be good enough anymore.
2 years ago, Finnan was widely regarded as the best Rightback in the Premiership. Not now.
2 years ago, Riise COULD hit a cow's a*se with a banjo.
2 years ago, Sami was still a top centrehalf.
So now we need all this from players who aren't doing it anymore for whatever reason. Hence, we now need to replace (or think about replacing) these players to attain the standard deemed acceptable.
