The worst thing is aarons on school holidays and I would murder for a sleep in

I have been worried the past few months about certain things, have to go back the docs over my mole, probably physcological and is playing on my mind.

Plus waiting for results for something else.

Maybe thats it Id just kill to have a sleep in.

Sounds like a touch of anxiety.

I know its east to say, but you shouldnt worry over things you have no control over, test results the mole thing. Its unhealty for you, take your mind off of it, think nice thoughts before bedtime. Think about your son or Liverpool winning the CL final, anything to help your mind relax. If your worrying thoughts come back into your mind, you must tell your self to push them out and think of good things.

No chance of that St Aaron sleeps with me :D and dutch tellys cr@p, after 11 theres only wife swap on, boring people talking about sh!te, or sex lines on the other ten channels  :sleep

The only thing that keeps me warm in bed is me leccie blanket :D

I also have trouble sleeping, but its not only that my missus is a nightmare. Just as I eventually start dodding off my missus in a deep sleep will just blurt out "WHY DONT YOU F*CK OFF" or some other foul language and totally scare the living p*ss out of me ! but not only does she talk and shout in her sleep she swings out. Sometimes i'll just be lying there and all of a sudden she will punch me in the head. Thats happened a few times ! At least I hope shes asleep.... gonna check up on that one ???

a serious thing that works is self hypnosis. you can get yourself a relaxing tape but can do it yourself. you have to imagine a waterfall, massive, 1000s of feet big. picture every last detail, every crack in the rocks, every leaf on every plant, ever droplet of water. now as you are doing this you need to do excersices, breathing and stretching. Stretch as hard as you can, breath in long and deep, then relax, keep repaeating as you picture the waterfall and EVERY detail.

this does actually work, but needs patience and some soothing music to listen to would help

Usually the sound of rain or wind can put people to sleep. It can be relaxing. Maybe a chi waterfall or water feature can help. I've sat in rooms before with one of these and it does create a very relaxing atmosphere from the sound it makes. We are, afterall, 70% water ourselves.

I've had quite a few nights where I've been waking up in the small hours, so I know how frustrating it can be trying to get back to sleep again.

But I think Bamaga is right when he says it's probably stress related. And if you are worried Cigs, then it can cause probs even subconsciously, like you say.

Ive had worries of a financial nature and it was really mucking up my sleeping. I try not to worry and it does help, but it is hard to do sometimes. I read this the other day 'worry is like a rocking chair, it just goes backwards and forwards, but it doesn't get you anywhere'. This prob doesn't help much but it puts a kind of perspective on worry, though it's easier said than done, I know.

The dog nextdoor has been banished to the bottom of their garden so even though he is still alive :D, and outdoors 24/7, he doesn't bark quite so much.
However, when nights were bad due to him, I did take a herbal sleeping pill of sorts, which helped initially. Although, I did become immune to them in the end so they had the opposite affect  :D . They were called 'Quiet Life' by Lanes.

Anyhow my doc was reluctant to prescribe sleeping pills as he said I could become addicted to them, even though I only wanted them short-term. He did prescribe a mild tranquiliser called Trazodone, to promote sleep. I left it a few weeks and then reluctantly took one before bed. But the effects were horrendous. Like Kazza, I had a very vivid, scary dream. And in the morning I felt like I had been run over by a bus and was totally out of it. I'm not at my best in the mornings so this didn't help! I'm definately not taking take anymore of these! So beware of these, but I do realise they may work for some people.

My mum recommended a glass or two of red wine and I must admit this worked wonders!! (although everything in moderation)
My sleep is better now, and I don't always have a glass of wine.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, Cigs and I do hope you find a solution that is best for you.
But stress and worry will certainly mess it all up.

Btw, my son, Sam used to sleep with me when he was little.
It was really nice having my own hot water bottle sleeping right next to me.  :)

I would prescribe reading the rotation thread from page one onwards. Round about page six you should find tourself dropping off. Should also come in handy if your little lad gets a bit lippy or out of order as well. You could make him read it, poor little fecker'll be behaving like an Angel before you know it.

ive had sleep problems for many years and it can be caused by a number of things, answer the following questions

1. is your diet high in sugar/caffiene? Do you snack in the evenings? do you eat at least 3 meals a day, including a breakfast?
2. have you ever suffered from depression or anxiety? are you having family/work problems? when you do sleep do you have any recurring dreams?
3. Do you get regular exercise? Do you have a daily routine? Are your sleep patterns interupted by family, domestic or work related causes?

If you do let me know and i'l try and give you the knowledge I gained from my experiences ,Im no doctor mind
