Think Kuyt looked better as the game went on...... But i still think crouch should play ahead of Kuyt.

Carra was great.

Arbeloa looked great too.

Auerlio looked assured.

Finnan looked as usual competant.

Benayoun had an above average game.....

Torres and Gerrard had a sub-par game. We need another player to take pressure of these guys......Go for Anelka rafa.

As for Babel....i said it once...and i will say it again....he is a waste of $$$...... He is just so predictable..... I know when he is gonna do the step over...i know when he is gonna shoot...and i also know when he is gonna trip over the ball...

Reina - 6/10
Finnan - 6.5/10
Carra - 7.5/10
Arbeloa - 6.8/10
Auerlio - 7/10
Mash - 8/10
Gerrard - 5.5/10
Benayoun - 6.5/10
Kewell - 6/10
Kuyt - 6/10
Torres - 5/10
Babel - 4.5/10

to give Babel a mark out of 10 like that after just 10 mins is laughable not to mention he coincided with our best period of the game and done more in 10 mins than kewell did in 80 mins ha.

:D

Point taken.....babel - 1.5/5  :p

Seriously...kewell did better than Babel. He got behind the mancity right back quite a lot in the 1st half (when the play was tight). He did ok in the 2nd...

As for babel....he came in when mancity were tiring.....They should have been "taking candy from a baby" for him....but what he does...?

1)Slips..... :lookaround
2)Instead of passing the ball (when he ran into the penalty box)...he kept on running with ball.....The last time i saw stupidity running like that was in forest gump.

Well, to play so well and yet end up with the result that probably puts us out of the title race is a real kick in the stones.

A tough fixture on paper and yet we dominated from start to finish and no one had a bad game.  Unfortunately, Gerrard and Torres had average rather than good games, which was probably the difference between us winning and drawing.  Then Dunne and Richards both had absolutely fantastic games which made it even more difficult to get the goal.  Dunne has come on a hell of a lot in recent years - similar to how Carragher has transformed for us in the last 3-4 years, very impressive these days I think.

It just wasn't to be, and for me this game highlights that despite the acquisition of Torres this season, we still don't have enough guile to open some teams up in tight games.  Also Kuyt's miss with the header sums up his season.  He should have buried it.  We can excuse Torres' few misses because he normally does produce, but patience is wearing thin as far as Kuty's concerned - certainly mine is anyway.

One of his best games so I reward him with 4 points. Worked hard. But he is not doing anything dangerous. Kuit is a mix between Eric Meijer and Sean Dundee.

I lol'd.

i dont know how man city think they are capable of being a top 4 club...
if they were they wouldn't defend for the best part of 90 mins with everyone behind the ball.

Finnan is in decline. Maybe he is not match fit yet, but I suspect we must look for a new right back next season

Dont agree with u there ....

Finnan had a great game , made overlap runs when he could

Stopped petrov wen he needed to ..

our best player was our left back, that just about sums it up. anyone who thinks riise is better than aurelio needs their head testing. thought aurelio was outstanding, as was carra, along with richards and dunne for them.

Why?

Ronaldo got no luck here earlier this season, If a team plays deep and puts 5 in mid 4 at the back you don't need a winger you need a fecking magician.

It was a frustrating afternoon for the forwards, in fairness to Man city they defended excellently and Richard Dunne was immense and the reason why Liverpool didnt win the game. Torres had a difficult evening against him and in fairness he is one of the most underratted centre backs in the premier League. For us I thought Carra and Mascherano were excellent, I know Ive said it before but he is the best defensive midfielder in the world 17 million is cheap at the price.

if we lose him he would be a major loss they dont come much better

I know i will get slated for saying this....but i rather sell alonso and sign Mash perm.

And also get rid of sissoko and Kuyt and sign a world class striker to partner torres....

As I keep saying we have only two match winners, Gerrard and Torres, they both had poor games and we couldn't score. No real surprise there. On the bright side I thought Mascherano proved to everyone today just how good he is. If we let him slip out of our grasp someone should be shot.

Elano hardly got a kick, Mascherano was everywhere.

I would risk not signing a CB if Rafa can sign a striker and Mascherano.

Point taking but i think you must have posters of Harry Kewell up on your wall and you must kiss him every night before you go to bed because he really was not that good as you made out.

I think we should start to realize Kewll will never return to the player he once was.

kewell really wasn't that bad....ok im not sayin he is great and ok im not saying he is a deffo in the liverpool starting 11 but its only his 5th start since returning to action and although he tried and failed on a couple of occasions he did control the ball well and beat the right back now and then aswel. not the best player on the pitch but not the worst.

Think you are a little harsh on mancity.......The reason why Arbeloa and Auerlio looked good was because mancity played football on the ground.

When we play teams like chelsea or aston villa who have target man.....Auerlio will struggle because he can't head the ball...
