:censored: poor performance from Liverpool today but Man u and arsenal get this sort of result all the time. If we were playin any other team it would be a different matter but the quality players won it for us today. Feel sorry for Derby deserved at least a point to tbh

Don't talk rubbish.

We  were very lucky. Scraping it against bottom of the league teams is just not good enough regardless of the result. Gerrard and Torres both scoring for us. Two key match defining players that can change a game. Just proves that Rafa was right with his statement earlier in the week by saying the difference between us and the other top 3 was that they've more of these match winning players. I don't blame Rafa. He's doing the best with what was and is available to him. If any dead wood should be shifted out, it should be several players (you know who they are) along with that wanker Dick Parry, who has held us back at least 15 years, and the the owners. If they don't realize that they need to allow Rafa to sell and buy at least2 more of these aforementioned players, then they can go and get f*cked.

err whatever u said , sell carson ,voro , crouch , aurelio and keep kewell , kuyt and riise . riise showed today why he is a better player and one of the best left backs in the pl . we need a top draw striker and a quality winger who can operate on either wings . Robben is a ideal player but i don't think we can get him , a cheaper option but operates only flank each are gabby abghlor and  young

1)No more Alonso and Gerrard Midfield combo (derby were over-running us)
2)Keep Riise at LB..... Auerlio is a worse LB than Riise
3)No more Babel on the wings please.......rafa you are gonna spoil his career.
4)Kewell, Gerrard, Torres, Carra, Mash and Benayoun(Pennant) have to start all our league games....doesn't matter if we play against wigan or fulham. The other players are not good enough to replace them.

We were over-run by derby in midfield.....can u believe it ?

Are you saying we should drop Alonso?

He was our best player by a mile today.

The majority of the team were so lackadaisical in the 2nd half. It's likely the missed chances got to them but we should be strong enough to impose ourselves on teams like Derby even if they do get a lucky goal. (Am I the only one who thought they had 3 players offside? Admittedly my picture quality wasn't that good).

I'll be happy when Pennant gets fit. Actually I'll be happy when Rafa realises Voronin should be 5th choice striker and last choice winger!!!

Alonso was great....he is a good player. This is not a dig at Alonso....But Gerrard loses his edge when he is paired when Alonso IMO. He was playing too deep covering for alonso.

But when it became evident we needed to win...he was running all over the place.

The thing is when he plays with Mash..Gerrard will terrorise the opposition players from the start of the match.

Thats my take....

BTW, John Burridge also has the same opinion as me....  :p  And Pee Wee too.....

People need to get a bit of perspective here.

We've had enough performances this season where we've scored 4 or more goals and blown teams away.  The fact is you can't do that every week.  Some days you have to accept that you didn't play well but make sure you still get a result.

Fair enough we relied on Gerrard, just as every top team relies on their best players, that's what he's there for.  A captain is there to dig you out of the sh.it when you're struggling, and he did his bit today, class act.

Chelsea slipped up today, Arsenal have a tough game tonight where I think Portsmouth might nick something.  Most importantly we won.  Now we move on.

well go and buy the match winner players then.  They dont all cost £20 mil as Arsenal's side shows.  Stop buying the likes of Vorinin (who many on here defended this buy on the basis it was a free transfer) and kuyt.  Aurelio, Yossi, Pennant, Kuyt, Vorinin all rafa's buys and all not good enough.

This would be well and good if we had men in the places where it counts in landing these players. I'm fairly certain that Rafa wanted these players, but was "restricted". I'm fairly certain that this is fact, as was proven in the recent comments made by the Yanks in that spat a few weeks back. F*ck em. Let Rafa work and give the mans the means to land his first choice players as quickly as is required.

Agreed...Riise is a good LB. He is fast enough...good in the air. He is way better than Auerlio.

Can't believe ppl were wanting to get rid of him.....

Like i said....if we sign the next maldini then by all means lets get rid of riise...until then...he should stay.

Just a very poor performance made worse by some of Rafa's strange substitutions and lethargic play by us once we went in front. No drive no urgency and no movement for long periods of the game. I just think Derby dragged us down to their level with their attrocious passing.

Rafa needs to stop treating these games as walkovers, and Bigmick needs to stop saying how easy its going to be. Every time he says that we struggle :D

we were lucky... we were complacent in the second half... obviously there are players that are just not good enough for the team...

babel on the wing was a disappointment... he never did anything right IMO

that was a performance worthy of MOTM but before gerrard , i think alonos would have to be MOTM for me , he never gave one ball away , nothing , his passes were pin point accurate . i think that due to being too used to be playing with masch who defends and lets gerrard attack , today's change gerrard had to do both , alonso was a good player today but gerrard needs to be shifted to thr right if we want to accomodate both alonso and masch and kewell on the left with babel and torres upfront . teams would shiver against us

Well hopefully this might scare the players and teach them a lesson.

Only two points behind Chavsea now, with a game in hand.

Someone has got to start beating Manure and Arsebone soon, otherwise they may run away with this.

A draw is good enough.. It will be a hard game..
