Why didn't we play like we did after we conceded the goal ??? Thats what which irritates me. We are good enough to hammer teams but why did we switch off after scoring ?

Is this due to rafa's instruction ?

still doesnt change the fact our side has not got enough quality and we have to many players who dont cut it at LFC.

ok thats ur view , u have had ur say , now can u stop rubbing it in and i totally agree that against teams like this who are fighting don't expect a thrashing , we could have had 4 today , it was just not our day , i would have fancied us to beat bywater but not this young keeper , they always seem to have a good game against us this reserve keepers

Hope rafa finally learns...don't fu@k with the team.....

1)No more Alonso and Gerrard Midfield combo (derby were over-running us)
2)Keep Riise at LB..... Auerlio is a worse LB than Riise
3)No more Babel on the wings please.......rafa you are gonna spoil his career.
4)Kewell, Gerrard, Torres, Carra, Mash and Benayoun(Pennant) have to start all our league games....doesn't matter if we play against wigan or fulham. The other players are not good enough to replace them.

We were over-run by derby in midfield.....can u believe it ?

Are you saying we should drop Alonso?

He was our best player by a mile today.

The majority of the team were so lackadaisical in the 2nd half. It's likely the missed chances got to them but we should be strong enough to impose ourselves on teams like Derby even if they do get a lucky goal. (Am I the only one who thought they had 3 players offside? Admittedly my picture quality wasn't that good).

I'll be happy when Pennant gets fit. Actually I'll be happy when Rafa realises Voronin should be 5th choice striker and last choice winger!!!

its happened to often which suggests to me that rafa still does not have it in him to just go for teams and score as many as possible.  His cautious.  Always has been and wont change.

That was seriously not good enough. Derby are :censored:. Some of our players need to learn how to pass.

We get a goal and we just get lazy .....

But when the pressure is on the whole team goes mad and starts playing decent again...

I don't really know what to think.  I'm so glad we won but the performance was just so terrible.  The players looked like they had too much to drink last night.  I think it was a lack of preparation and too many changes that caused this.

Don't talk rubbish.

We  were very lucky. Scraping it against bottom of the league teams is just not good enough regardless of the result. Gerrard and Torres both scoring for us. Two key match defining players that can change a game. Just proves that Rafa was right with his statement earlier in the week by saying the difference between us and the other top 3 was that they've more of these match winning players. I don't blame Rafa. He's doing the best with what was and is available to him. If any dead wood should be shifted out, it should be several players (you know who they are) along with that wanker Dick Parry, who has held us back at least 15 years, and the the owners. If they don't realize that they need to allow Rafa to sell and buy at least2 more of these aforementioned players, then they can go and get f*cked.

Thats just it....Rafa dont learn.

The good thing is we won....but the bad thing is that rafa will most likely think nothing was wrong with that performance....

And he will continue to make these stupid decisions over and over again..... :no

Ah well.....i am off to party... (although it is humiliating to celebrate after such a dire performance).

Hope to see kewell back on sunday...when kewell doesn't start we go haywire (ie...reading).

at least kuyt was much better , he set up 2 but sadly it was not our day . we were saved today by captain fantastic , just hope we leave this cr@p performance behind us and concentrate on man city . we need the wide man and rafa will see this and put yossi on the right and kewell on the left , we need a quality finisher and silva i hope the rumours are ture

Utter bl00dy hopeless...our midfield was overrun...Veronin did :censored:...why no Mascherano to steady the midfield and allow Gerrard to play higher? For a Brazilian, Auerlio sure can't pass and Babel was aweful at the wing!!! The only saving grace was the 3 lucky points...thank god for Gerrard. Second best (and nearly loss) against the bottom team who can't score at home that's saying something...I wonder what was in Rafa's thoughts...  :veryangry

well go and buy the match winner players then.  They dont all cost £20 mil as Arsenal's side shows.  Stop buying the likes of Vorinin (who many on here defended this buy on the basis it was a free transfer) and kuyt.  Aurelio, Yossi, Pennant, Kuyt, Vorinin all rafa's buys and all not good enough.

I really have to laugh at those of you (once again, you know who you are) who stated that they'd like to see our big guns rested for this game, because it's Derby. Oh, how so wrong can you be? So very wrong.

That's a bit harsh considering we've had 3-0, 4-0, 6-0 and 8-0 wins this season.

I think it's down to a lack of confidence in our ability to score. We go 1-0 up then miss a few chances...the team then seems to take less risks in case they make mistakes and concede. The problem is of course, in playing more cautiously we invite teams to attack us.

If Babel or Carra had scored (as they should have) or Torres/Riise not been tackled at the last minute, we'd have won 4-0 at least.

The players (and this is down to management) have to have the confidence that they can come back after conceding. When they do, they'll be more inclined to attack as they'll know that even if the defence is exposed they can still score more.
