Like we were unlucky against Man Utd, and in most other games in which we don't prevail. I can't help thinking that particular line wears a bit thin. I don't criticise Rafa at all for the team selection , but we weren't "unlucky" come on.

We were unlucky not to beat Chelsea at Home in the league, but we've had our share of rub this season as well. Villa fans still talk about the award of Gerrards free-kick in the opening game, I have absolutely no doubt that the bitters still talk about the non-penalty in the dying seconds of the derby when Carragher wrestled Lescott to the ground. Blackburn probably think they were a feaction unfortunate to hit the post twice in the first half against us, while feck only knows how unlucky we would have felt if we had gone to the Emirates, had all the posession, drew 1-1 but hit the post twice and missed two open goals.

Luck plays a part in football, but it doesn't often prevent the team which most deserves it winning the Premiership at least.

lucas - youngest ever player to win the bola de ouro, captain of the brazil under 20s and one of the most exciting prospects we have.
momo sissoko - say what you like but he's an excellent player and is sought after by a number of big clubs
ryan babel - a full dutch international and winner of the under 21 european championship. another of our most exciting prospects
jack hobbs - one of the most promising young centre backs in the country

Don't think hobbs did any favour to his "one of the most promising young centre backs in the country" tag against chealsea.....

That was really a woeful performance....Carra was running his ar$e covering for hobbs throughout the match..

As for sissoko.....eh.......  :Oo:

The thing that upsets me, more than the inept performance, is the manager's complete lack of respect for the fans.
There were about 10,000 of us there and, at a conservative estimate, they spent a million pounds to go and watch a second  string team. Same as Reading when we threw in the towel. What does he think we are there for ? - Just to sing when we're losing ?
If the best team do their best and we lose, then fair enough but devaluing the effort made by away supporters is going too far and the "we played well" BS doesn't wash anymore.

Its a league cup game so what did you expect? All the top teams do it (except for chelsea !). You know hes going to rest players and field reserve players. If you go to a league cup game and expect a full strength eleven then the question is where have you been for the past few years?

I've been following this team for over fifty years. Been around the world following them and I've paid the price for being a scouser. I was with an ex LFC player last night and we both agreed that this is the first time since Shank's days that we've given up during games.
We need silver at the end of the year and treating the traditions of LFC like that was a disgrace. I've supported Raffa from day one even though I do not agree with some of his policies but the last month makes me wonder just how much he's missing Packo. Losing the plot or what ?
