oh dear, Shame we was not doing to bad till Crouch got sent off, i know we was 1-0 down then but we still looked like getting a goal.

To be honest we ddnt deserve to win, there attacking made ours look farsical. Xabi Alonso looked really good and they subbed him. Against teams like chelsea fringe players are no good.

I thought our players did OK considering the selection.

Unlucky with the first goal, and it was a silly "tackle" from Crouch.

We looked like drawing at the least, only the red card ruined it

i know its pretty much our reserve team but im tired of being beaten by the likes of utd, and chelsea, i dunno but it is never with confidence we can approach these games, we are far from the finished article but i hope the owners are patient men, I wish we had another striker, voronin isnt up to it, pity we didnt keep anelka, a greedy grumpy git but he gets goals and when torres doesnt play we seem to be lacking a lot in the striker department.
another day of getting stick from non liverpool supporters beckons for me again.....

alonso is class and stood out tonight from the other midfielders in our side.  Our squd really isnt that great. Too many players who are v lucky to be playing for LFC. Like it or its another loss on the domestic front.

Why?

Unless another team has won this cup seven times, no one can say anything.

we're playing not too badly... despite an almost second string side

Second string team yes, but second string team members that have been regularly rotated so playing a competitive match isn't a strange thing for them. (This post is meant so that Bigmick answers it in the rotation thread :D )

Nah I'll answer it in here Sabes. I don't buy this notion that as second string players get an odd game here and there often out of position in a rotational system, when you do stick them all in you see a benefit. It doesn't work for me and never has.

For me it's in the same category as the delayed gazelle theory, you know the one that says if you rest a bloke for a game in September, give it six months down the track and you'll find he's jumping out of his skin in March. It just doesn't work for me, I can't see the logic in it. Rest a bloke and he'll be fresher a few days later, yes I can see that. But the players haven't got some sort of milometer, or taco fixed into their engines which means we can "bank" freshness to be used later in the season. Least I don't think they have anyhow. If they have, it's just a shame we couldn't have "unbanked" some of the sharpness we had stored up against Man Utd what with out listtle rests and the like earlier in the season. Maybe we did but I just didn't see it.

puroresu wrote:It isnt our strongest team but I wouldnt say its like an arsenal side full of kids.  These players are still players who rafa has rotated in prem games.  The reality is many of them aint good enough for LFC. Yossi, Vorinin, Crouch, Sissoko, Aurelio not good enough to take us to the next level.

hoorah! somebody that talks sense on this forum. some of our players are a joke as are some of benitez's decisions. to be honest, watching pool these days is as interesting as watching that mr.interesting dermot whoever on egg-heads. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

What was the fricken point in even playing this game tonight? and putting Benayoun on for Babel when he was only ever going to be the one person on the pitch that MIGHT have got lucky in getting a goal, a disgrace tonight, complete and utter disgrace in terms of decision making, getting a regular thing this recently with Rafa and I dont like it
