Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Yeah no one has said we cant strengthn in Jan. Infact Rafas comments were posative, he said so himself that the outcome of the meeting was posative and now they can move forward. If we have had the wallet shut he would have said something like "we have to look at some things that are right for us at the right time blah blah blah"

You don't get quality players for nothing, unless noone wants them and then they aren't worth having anyway!  The reason why we haven't won the Premiership comes down to one main thing IMO, a lack of real quality.  It's as simple as that.  We have been signing average player after average player and fans wonder what's wrong, its bloomin obvious!  However, Rafa has bought some top quality players in...Reina, Torres, Babel, Agger, Alonso, Masha, Lucas etc.  Fantastic stuff but we need more of the same.  Kuyt, Voronin, Crouch, Sissoko, Riise, Aurelio amongst others are not up to the standard.  We rely too much on our star players.

good players , but most of them are old and whats the point of getting them , good players yes , with only a year or two more left in them , hardly worth paying their wages , accept del horno which would be a good addition to the squad , which would give us str in dept and which could cover our weak full back postion

lethal , yes very lethal , i rmb the goals he got against us for milan in the champs league finals , good finishing , but i don't think he can adapt in the epl , he was poor for chelsea and i don't think now that he is older , its gonna change , i rather save on his wages and pay abit for quality players , hopefully we have the funds

kuyt , crouch and riise have surely done enough , to prove that they have the quality to play for liverpool , u guys seem to forget what crucial goals they have got for us , kuyt against chelsea last season , riise , wicked left foot shot , and good defensive ability , crouch is a good player against teams who sit back and defend , at least we can see crouch as a decoy . i agree some of the players like voronin are not of that quality , but give him time to adapt , i don't think he has done much wrong and its his first season in the english league . the pace of the league is different and some players take a longer time to adapt then others , etc drogba , was :censored: in his first few games for Chelsea , now he's their prized possession , other example would be tevez , took 17 games i tink , to score his first goal adn then he set the world alight , by single handle y rescuing west ham from the drop , now he's a manu player and although i don't like him , u gotta give him credit , he's one hell of a player , can create and finish well

Shevchenko still looks completely lost in the Premiership and offers virtually nothing as an attacking force anymore.

A sad fall from grace for a player who was top quality at AC Milan.

Everone knows the Premiership is more physical, if you ask me at his age the writing was on the wall. He was never going to set the league alight.

This is Asier del Horno real photo of last summer in the fiestas of Bilbao.

Great professional Asier del Horno. It's been a while I'm not that wasted. :D

LMAO, I remember seeing that  :bowdown

Bloody hell thats the first time ive seen that. Hes hammered haha. Id never want him at Liverpool.

I remember when he signed for Chelsea he said something like "this move can set me up for live financially". He didnt seem interested at all in the club, just the fact that hes going to be earning more.
