So would everyone.

But when you have a great player...and see him have LESS impact because of a managers tactics-its sad.

Gerrard should have the reins removed- and be allowed to do what HE wants to do.

Leave the ties until hes too old to surge up and down the pitch.

We still have a few too many average players and against the real big hitters they fall short of whats required.

Out of todays line ups I would imagine only Gerrard and Torres would make the Utd team and thats what we are up against.

Unfortunately its a familiar tale for Liverpool and alas another season outside the top two places looks pretty likely now.

I suspect that Reina and Mascherano would almost certainly slot into Man U's lineup and you could make a strong case for including Arbeloa ahead of Wes Brown as well.  Alonso, when fit, would get a game for them as well.

He is just a team player now, part of the Benitez jigsaw.

He doesnt want to carry the ball now.

He doesnt look interested now.

Hes a shadow of the player he was, for Liverpool and England..a big factor on why we are not in euro 08.

The very same tactics that enabled us to thrash marseille in there own backyard where Gerrard was held back?

I know quite a few here don't fancy crouch...but this is the guy who scored the winner against the scums 2 seasons ago...scored goals in the champions league...scored goals in the world cup for england.

So why isn't he good for us when Kuyt or Voronin is ?  ???

Because Kuyt is a better player than crouch

no he isnt, hwo can anyone who cant even control a ball be better than a player with a great first touch

Yes ! Rafa didnt win 8-0 against marseille but still stuck with a winning team. Ok we didnt get the result but that right there is progress isnt it?

Again im just giving my opinion, there was no need for sarcasm .
If you honestly think beating a french team who are 14th in Lige1  in their own backyard is anything special then youre insane.
The true fact is -the same team was played today against decent oposition..and was found wanting.

2cute4u I get the feeling you like going round in circles.  Firstly there is a fine line between the best teams and the also rans.  Secondly you can only beat what put in front of you. Thirdly Liverpools defeat of Marseille was outstanding and showed them to be a very good team.  Do you think Man Utd are a bad team? or do you think they are the one of footballs elite? For if they are elite then they can beat us and Liverpool can beat them.  As for Reading 3-1 The great Jimmy Grieves used to say "footballs a funny old game".

Not sure wot exactly youre trying to say boy..

The Reading game was just an unlucky day at the office for Liverpool. I think every man and his dog seen how unlucky they were that day.. creatiing plenty of chances etc

Yes I do believe Man U are in the elite. You say Liverpool could beat them ...but they didnt. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day-that football. But the real result comes in May.
Stop going on about possession, Man Utd scored and ALLOWED Liverpool to play, you know if Liverpool hadve scored it would have been a different call from Ferguson.ATTACK. Something both Man u and Arsenal do better than anyone else.

I seem to remember an Italian team giving Man Utd a good hiding in the Champions League semi a couple of years back before we gave the feckers a three goal start and still smacked their erse :D Similarly last season, the team which absolutely fecking banjoed them 3-0 in the semi was as lucky as erseholes to prevent us from winning it for a sixth time.

yes I remember that too.
But the premiership is much more important than getting one over on your rivals...dont you think?
Take your pick Mick....the premiership and semi of Champions League.
Or....nothing.
