LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER UNITED - Its time....its time to finally beat the

It's disappointing as we never eally got going in the second half at all I didn't think. I always got the impression that they were in control of the game, and to be fair they defended great and deserved to win IMHO.

It probably is fair to say that we are now huge outsiders for the Leaue but I guess you never know. we certainly can't blame todays defeat on the team selection, it's just simply that we got done by a better team on the day which happens. It is all the more reason though why you must avoid tossing points away against lesser teams with gay abandon, and once again our propensity to resemble a balloon which has been pricked in the League once we get one bad result is a worrying trend.

That we have been beaten by the team which will comfortably win the Premiership IMHO is little consolation.

Half Time, Move Gerrard to the right, put Lucas in the middle, take of Kewell swap Benny to the left bring on on Babel who causes any opponents trouble to play up top with Torres because let's face it Kuyt's well c£ap.

Today makes me believe Riise should have sold 3 yrs ago he's rubbish at everything. Rafa is going to have some As$ kissing to do in my eyes because this is just not good enough.

Thats it....out of the title race for sure....

The thing is.... Its not this match i am unhappy against. Its the matches against birmingham, portsmouth and reading...etc.

If we had won those matches....this lost might not be so bad.....

Thats why rafa has to play a strong against the so-called weaker teams so that we can beat them ...... as we don't usually get a lot of points against the stronger ones (ie..manure, chelsea and arsenal) under rafa....

That was very annoying. Plenty of possession, but no final ball or imagination in the final third. Our players plugged on regardless , and did have a few good chances to score, and should have, when they didnt trip or fall over.
Fair play to them tho..they went about their business in a professional way, and they look  a helluva better side, their defending won them this game.

At least by playing the game on a Sunday it hasn't ruined all my weekend. Kuyt was about as frustrating as I have ever seen him , he's just too slow thinking as well as no pace. He has no anticipation and poor control. Time to splash the fkn cash and get a top class partner for Torres.

that's my point peewee:

people seem to write us off on here because of individual games (e.g. reading). what i'm saying is that if we're good enough then we'll bounce back from defeats and pick up more points. at the moment we seem to huff and puff in games where we should be easily winning.

the service to the strikers today was terrible. either the crosses were wayward or whoever had the ball cut back allowing the defenders to face away from goal.

peewee's point about kuyt being too slow to get the loose ball sums it up for me. that was his 1 chance, a loose ball. how many times was a ball actually played into a striker today? we can't expect our forwards to hang around the box hoping that a mishit cross or shot will drop to them.

It's over. The league was over when we went and got beat 3-1 by a very poor Reading team.

Beating West Ham we're 6 points away of United, and with half the season on front of us, you can't throw the towel now.

Honestly, mate, if you think you can afford to get beaten by sides like Reading 3-1 and still expect to be taken seriously for the league, then you've your head in the clouds. Reading was the game that woke me up and made me smell the bullsh*t.

so because we lost to reading we don't deserve the title?

what if we'd lost 1-0 to man city? or 1-0 to a poor bolton side? would we not be worthy then? man utd had those results but they aren't written off.

individual results don't make seasons and don't decide champions. we need to consistently pick up points to be title contenders.

Yes. That's what I'm saying. It shows we aren't good enough.

For me, it comes to beating sides like these consistently home and away, and then winning your home games against the top 3 teams challenging for the league, or at least picking up 4 points from them or getting the greater share of the points overall. We're not doing that. Today's defeat was just the nail in the coffin and proof that we are not going to win the title again this season. Why people don't come to realize the truth of this is beyond me. We've only had 17 years or so of this kind of experience. Why should it change now?

Amazing how we always get beat with the same tactics over and over again.  This is so painful.  If Rafa stays I hope he will realize from today's experience that players like Kuyt don't win you titles (but he probably won't).
