Sissoko's fuming

I think that's a key point.  We've moved up a gear as a team from the first year Momo came aboard and he's not been able to make the same step up in quality.

As a destroyer he is unparalleled but we require more than destruction from our central midfielders now.  Hell, even Mascherano doesn't quite meet our needs going forward in certain games where opponents sit deep and invite us onto them, so how could Momo fulfill that brief?  So, in games like the Reading match, he doesn't have the quality on the ball to contribute to the attack.   Moreover, teams have learned to stand off him when he receives the ball and smother Gerrard or whoever else is in the vicinity.  Basically, they give him little option but to move the ball forward himself and do something creative with it (much like they sometimes do with Carragher).  This type of situation simply doesn't play to Momo's strengths, which leads to errors, frustration and a lack of confidence.

I think it's time to cash him in.  We can use the money for strengthening other departments of the team and he can get a fresh start in a team that will likely give him the games he needs and the role he's most comfortable in.

Momo's ridiculous! There's no way his current form warrants a place even on the bench. I think Rafa's right to leave him out and if Momo is not happy about it, he can leave, simple as that. We can sell him to raise funds for Mascherano and we certainly won't miss him at all.

Mohamed Sissoko has hit out at his exclusion from the Liverpool side to face Marseille in the crucial Champions League tie at Stade Velodrome, insisting he will discuss his future at the Merseyside club in January.

The Mali midfielder played in the disappointing 3-1 defeat to Reading on Saturday but will be sidelined when Rafa Benitez's side bid to clinch the three points that will take them into the knockout stages of the competition.

"It is in France, all my family are there and they wanted to see me on the pitch," he stormed to RMC.

"It is a difficult time. I am good enough to play in this team.

"It's the manager's decision. I respect it but I will discuss this in January.

"I will make an assessment with my agents and the manager. I have been asking myself that question for a while.

"I accept healthy competition but to play one match every five does not interest me."

Also Ranieri wanted to buy him in the summer but baulked at the 32 million euro asking price  :suspect:

Sentanta sports.

Sell him.

His passing is often sloppy anyway.

if the guy is genuinely moaning, well he's got no right to moan.
He is so out of form.

He was dreadful in the home game against marseille and was to blame for the defeat in imo. His passing is sloppy and he is playing with clumsy feet at the moment.

He better not play against Man U, because we will be a man down from the start if he does.

Still give him a chance to refind his form against weaker opposition.
But if he keeps moaning, well then get the hell out.

I'd ask what he does aside from winning the ball? Gives it away when he's won it, shoots and hits the target once other month, gets booked one in every four games, gets injured......................................

He has one good point and many missing ones. Quite why Rafa plays Sissoko AND Mascherano is a mystery, play Mascherano and then Gerrard can drop into a holding role if needed. We watch good players taken off and Sissoko remains doing nothing to justify being on the pitch in the first place. I reckon he must be doing Rafa's missus and she's talked Rafa into playing him, or variations on a theme

We don't need Sissoko, his passing is woeful.  We have two class DM in Alonso & Masha...Kuyt could fill that role well in an emergency, chases everything down!

get rid of him if that's what he's saying, there is no way he deserves a first team place with his recent performances. And to think that because his family are there he deserves a starting place is ridiculous. i like the lad for his energy and to be honest i was singing his praises saying he should be a starter but like someone said our whole squad has moved onto another level and left behing playing catch up.

sell him now we don't need players like that in the squad

The best possible thing to do.... sell him. I just can't see him playing regularly with the likes of mascha, lucas , gerrard and alonso in the centre. Besides that, his passing is not good...not good at all. and now, he's whining... Enough reasons to sell him.
By the way, he should evaluate his last few performances before making a statement in the press.

And on that note, I do not think that ANY team needs more than two defensive / holding midfielders.

" Sissoko fuming "

He has no right to be, does he honestly think he's worth a starting place ahead of Gerrard, Mascha and Alonso.

He's a liability in possession, cheeky get.

My view on Sissoko is quite simple. He's not good enough. Take a look at him over the last few weeks, absolutely pathetic. Rubbish in the derby, fell over the ball at Newcastle, dreadful at Reading to name but a few. And then he comes out with all this stuff in the papers. If you want to go Momo, close the door on your way out. The way it is with him, his second touch is almost always a tackle because his first touch is so bad. Distribution awful. At Reading in the first half, he cost us an almost certain goal with a terrible touch when we had a 3 on 2 counter attack. Let him go, we don't need him.
