Liverpool v marseille - In game. cmon u reds

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I thought Kewell made one hell of a difference this evening.

He's looking as sharp and as agile as I've seen him since he joined us, and he really looked up for the fight tonight. He gives us another dimension - we have nothing else like him - quality, craft, awareness, nimble feet, excellent balance, good pace - he's like a new signing. I think he could be absolutely key this season.

Overall I thought the balance of the side was spot on.

Marseille were really poor, feck knows why they played such a high line at the beginning, crazy.

I'd like to see us play Madrid or Internazionale in the next round.

Great performance.

Marsielle tried their best, but offered nothing, even when they put on Samir Nasri, they couldn't break us down, hence quality showed in the end WE WERE TOO GOOD FOR THEM!

Where is this Velbuena lad?

Torres showed us yet again why he's the striker we've been waiting for...what a shimmy in the box!  Kewell was outstanding, Kuyt had a strong game, Sami was immense and, credit where credit is due: Riise didn't put a foot wrong (except for his free kick :D ).  I'm relieved we made it look so easy, I'm more relieved that there was no hang-over from Saturday and I'm even more relieved that Mascherano seems okay and that no one else seemed to pick up an injury.

Let's hope we can carry this form into Sunday and, yes, for the record, I think we should play the exact same team against the Mancs! :nod

If we needed a 8-0 to get no changes, I think that a 0-4 at least deserves to make one or two changes of players maximum.

I agree we should play a similar team, or the same one :)

These kinds of comments make me wonder if people on this forum actually see the matches or just hit the random complain about riise, kuyt or sissoko button.

Of all the players who played I thought Yossi (hughes) wasnt particularly brilliant but none of them tonight deserve any stick, they did the job and we can all look forward to stuffing utd.

Tbh mate i agree, thought he showed something we have been missing for a long time, good in posession can pick a pass strong in the air, its like the side had actual balance and i think Harry deserves alot of credit.
