Point is...even if we lost one less than Mancs and Chelsea, they are still ahead because they didn't feck up and draw games there for their taking.

Besides, what about Arsenal? 0 losses yet. That's who we were supposed to be chasing until Rafa decided CL was more important.

WE WILL ALSO DROP POINTS AS LONG AS RAFA MASS-ROTATES.

And we will win every game we play if he didn't? :D

Well I only saw the second half, and then thr re-runs of the main bits and clearly we were on the wrong end of a couple of dodgy refereeing decisions. It seemed to me what with Gerrard hitting the bar and one or two other things that it just wasn't going to be our day, and you get them sometimes.

From a selection point of view, needless to say I wouldn't have gone with the same team. It is fair to say we have got results with similarly baffling line-ups in the past, as no doubt somebody from the pro camp will point out. There is a part of me though that feels that when you do get results despite changing the line-up, the formation and the method, you are kind of "getting away with it" to an extent, and if you keep revisiting the method, sooner or later you'll come unstuck.

Anyway that's for the other thread and for another time. It'sa poor result but everyone has them. Man Utd lost at Bolton last week, Chelsea have had their share and Arsenal will get theirs. It probably means should we lose against man Utd then we're pretty near gone for all money, but that was the case anyhow. It's a long race and the roller-coasterish nature of the campaign is no surprise to me. It was always going to be that way. I guess we'd better start getting ready for a bit of an influx on the good ship over the next xouple of days.   :(

I still think we will Dward, we just need a good result against the mancs and we are back in it.

ermm surely we also need Arsenal to start loosing, and actually loose quite a few. There is no way we win the league this year not with that f**kwit Rafa in charge

Arsenal will start to lose games mate, they will lose half their team to the African nations cup! I would rather be chasing Arsenal than trying to catch the mancs. Thats why the game next week is so important.

Yes but there's also Chelsea mate. Do you honestly think we are going to beat Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea this season. Personally I'm just praying we make it into 4th spot   :oh:

Why does Rafa have to go and mess around with the team when we were playing so well, what the hell is wrong with him, I reckon they should investigate him for match fixing because he certainly has the power to loose games at will.

What a wonderful surprise, heimdall shows up when Liverpool lose.

where were you in the last 3 or 4 games mate?  ???

come on mate, we can hardly blame heimdall for this    :D

It really pIsses me off mate, I mean he call himself a liverpool supporter and all that and he is just loving how we are losing.

Unbelievable.

rafa is on drugs, how can you have a team starting line up like that?  How can you drop ALL of Kewell, Babel, and Yossi?  We were playing really well in the last few weeks and all of a sudden he decides to :censored: up team selection and tactics.

Rafa's rotation is a bit like Russian roulette. Works sometimes but we shoot ourselves in the foot other times.

That really was a bit of a horror show. The ref gave us nothing all game, we were unlucky with the woodwork, but in all fairness we can't sulk about luck when the opposition put 3 goals past us.

Two bad challenges led directly to two of the goals, and they were by players that all of us would have in our first team, so we can't point the finger there.

To be fair to Rafa, it wasn't a weak starting line-up by any means, but it certainly wasn't our strongest, and with Hobbs starting, the 4-3-3 formation and the potential for problems that is Momo Sissoko, there were too many oo-er variables which played right into Reading's hands.

With two huge matches coming up, I can understand Rafa playing around with things a bit, resting the odd player and easing the likes of Kewell back, and maybe some of the decisions going our way could have yielded a completely different result. In all honesty though, today was evidence of too much tinkering.

I don't think the league's over by any means, but I really think Rafa's shat in his own tea today. Although I completely expect him to go to town on the ref, he has to shoulder the blame for our failure to get at least a point.

If we lose v Man U and win v Reading, it's the same number of points as winning v Reading and losing v Man U. Just beat what's in front of you and assess who's available for the next game when it's over.

A lot of fantastic work undone today, unfortunately. :(

thats fair enough chris but we went down against reading with a weak performance

Very true mate but we lost, it was going to happen at some point in the season and thank :censored: it wasnt against United or Chelsea.

It was a :censored: disjointed performance where the boss underestimated our opponents.  Lets hope its the last time he does it.

It's actually only Toure, Diarra and Song (Not that Song really counts). They'll only really miss Toure.

What about Adebayor - Togo? Eboue - Ivory coast?

Togo didn't qualify but I forgot about Eboue.

We had three matches in a week, Rafa had to gamble in one of them, he chose to gamble in this one and it didn't come off. WE STILL HAVE 2 BIG GAMES TO WIN so lets not lose all fkn sense. If we had to lose one this is the game I would have picked to lose.

Just an idea, but Rafa reasoning behind this team selection and substitutions may have been because he wants money for January to bring more players in - maybe Gillette/Hicks have told him no way if we lose the guarenteed income from the latter stages of the CL?

Maybe if we go out on Tuesday no money will be made available.

Everyone should get a grip here. Its not ALL Rafa's fault. Sure, he screwed up and is the biggest cause for our failure to get 3 points today, but let's not forget our players played like :censored:. Not to mention, a few unlucky refereeing decisions.

Let's be fair here and not all go calling for Rafa's head. Wonder how everyone will feel a week from now when we end up beating both Marseille and the Mancs. 'Rafa's the Man'? Give me a break.
