The table - Makes for very good reading

Obviously Arsenal have a nice little buffer at the top, but I'm still very confident that they'll have a poor run of results at some point soon. Good as they're playing, the time will come when the ball won't go in for them late on as it has been recently.

So, we're third with a game in hand over Chelsea who are just 1 point ahead of us. And look at that goal difference - only Arsenal can match it. When you think of the huge win over Man City that Chelsea had recently, it shows how narrowly they've squeaked most of their other matches when we're in the first week of December seven goals better off than them.

Big, big month ahead for the club. If we can keep this run going, I predict fireworks against Man U. I still think it's too early to realistically call us for the title, but turning over the Mancs would be one hell of a statement of intent.

Well like every year I'll look the table in March.

I too think that Arsenal will fail sooner or later. Don't know them a lot, but I think they are more dependant on their Key players than we are.

We have been able to follow the top of the league rythm despite Alonso, Agger and Pennant's injuries, which highlights the goods a deep squad has. Arsenal do not have this depth, and I have no doubts their overuse of players like Cesc will have to be paid by them before March.

Surprise teams like Manchester City will not be up there much longer, they'll end up in UEFA places.

I think we'll challenge for the title, but the best path for that is just focusing on Reading.

If we can stay in touch with the mancs until January i think we'll be able to sustain a good title challenge. Come January you'll start to see Arsenal and Chelsea lose alot of points because of the African nations cup ,they'll lose some big players when that comp starts . If we can stay with the mancs we'll have a good chance imo.

Well there's no doubt we are on a significant roll at the moment, and doing what the other three of the big four teams do on a regular basis, namely beating the lesser teams home or away. We are also managing to keep the run going while chopping and changing the team regularly, so hopefully the much talked about "freshness" late in the season which is promised every year, will be much in evidence this time around.

The Man Utd game is going to be massive of course (when aren't they ever?) and a quick look at the fixture list before then only confirms it. Arsenal strangely have a random midweeker against newcastle on Wednesday, at St James. It could be make or break for fat Sam, and I'm going for break as I think Arsenal will have too much for them. That said, the posession stats at villa Park were very unusual for the Gunners in that the Home team were very much on top, possibly a precursor and an indicator that the excellence of Fabregas will be sorely missed. They follow that trip to the North East with another at the weekend, Middlesboro Away. I think they'll win both to be honest, I couldn't call it any other way.

After tonights taxing visit of Fulham, Man Utd recieve Derby next weekend. I can't imagine they'll be coming into the match against us with anything other than two victories behind them.

Chelsea recieve the visit of Sunderland next weekend, and once again i can only see one result.

We only have the one league game before our match with Man Utd, we go to Reading next weekend. I think we'll win the game without too many problems, but they are the sort of team who will probably get a result somewhere against one of the big four at some stage of the season, we've just got to make double sure it isn't us.

If results go to form, we will be going into the game against Man Utd three points behind but with a game in hand. We may also at that stage be nine points behind Arsenal but with a game in hand if they prevail in their two away games. There is also the emergence of Chelsea to consider. In direct contrast to us, they will after visiting Arsenal have played all of the other big four teams away from home in the first half of the season (we'll have played all three at home after Man Utd). They will certainly be rubbing their hands together looking forward to the second half, as will man Utd after visiting both Arsenal and Liverpool.

The more you look at it, the more it becomes obvious that it's a game we can't in all probability afford to lose, and we could really do with winning to be honest. It's definately going to be interesting, particularly as it's now obvious that Rafa isn't going to cut down too much on the rotation (I do think he had a wobble a couple of weeks back but he's definately back into the swing of it now). I've got a good recipe for humble pie, but unfortunately I've a suspicion that it won't be needed. We'll see     :p

Think you've called it about right Big Mick - every games a pressure cooker one. Arsenal Newcastle might spring a surprise - though I thought Villa might have got a point against them so I'm not holding my breath. The ' :censored: will also win at Boro - they are in freefall at the moment and are :censored: at the best of times. Seems to me its gonna be a really tight season - if we are still in touch after Christmas then I will start to believe we are in with a shout.

Man U will defo beat Derby though Fulham just might get a point - they were a tough nut to crack at Anfield

Our rivals will all wobble at some stage - just depends whether our wobble is behind us or not. We looked sluggish rather than wobbly!

We just have to keep pounding teams into oblivion.

It's the shyt teams like Birmingham we tend to lose points against.

We have to kill them. Score one...go for another...and another and another.

But play smart against the better teams like Arsebone, Manure and Chavsea.

Hi guys just joined up and found this thread interesting. So hmmmmm not looking to good at the minute is it lads with the poor results we've been "pullin out the bag" anyone know whats going on with them?

I mean the Man Utd result is dissapointing but is somewhere along the lines of what it usually is, but Reading i mean comeon...Its always the small time teams that give us problems. I  just dont get how we can come up with results in Europe such as Olympique Marseille 4-0, Besiktas 8-0 then when it comes to quite a critical easy Reading encounter and scuff it up lol. I dont mean to be negative in my first post hehe  but we need to pull some more european type spirit into our league games!

Common theme around new posters at the moment - just make sure you redress the balance somewhere along the line, and choose to opt for the newkit initiation test. Then we'll know how red you really are.  :;):

Not entirely unpredictable, the "shocks" are still few and far between and you know Bolton beating the mancs and Citeh doing the same is more than likely once every blue moon (excuse the 'subtle' humour)

Well, If Arsenal draw or get beat by Everton, things will look
good if we beat Man City.
