Hicks ready to sell share? - Dic to buy it.

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Morgan wanted a groundshare though there was noway Moores would have sold to him, the price they got for the shares 4.500 was the reason they sold to the Yanks.

Because DIC didnt want to give that much and bulked at it.

DIC had a lot of Liverpool fans and football would have been first and foremost even if they planned on selling us on after 7 years they would have made sure we got up to standards to sell us off again.

Plus the cash was coming out of Maktoums pocket not loans from banks.

After this debacle with Rafa plus them only watching us for six games two of them where finals.
Plus not coming over to get all this mess sorted out instead sticking to their guns and coming over on the 16th of December.

I think we sold to the wrong people, but thats just me.

They are only the custodians they have nothing to say about what goes on and should trust the manager and sign the cheques.

If theres a statement on the offal today dissmissing these reports I will be pissed off as they havent calmed our fears about Rafa yet.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

We should have sold the club to the arabs instead. These two :censored:tards talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk.

No hes not...... :D

Liverpool have distanced themselves from claims that co-owner Tom Hicks is considering selling his stake in the club.

Sources close to the American millionaire say he was made aware of speculation growing about a rift with co-owner George Gillett, and suggestions that he would be selling up, several days ago.

It is believed that in conversations earlier this week Hicks was angered by the suggestions and denied them to key figures at Anfield.

Hicks and Gillett are believed to be on the brink of sealing finances to build their revamped £400million new stadium in Stanley Park.

In the current tough financial market that has taken them some time and they have found world banks reluctant to loan cash for such a major scheme.

And in the midst of this, the row with boss Rafael Benitez over transfer policy has also sprung up, with the prospect at one stage that the Spaniard's public insubordination could cost him his job.

But in recent days that conflict has been smoothed over, thanks largely to a lengthy meeting between Parry and Benitez ahead of Wednesday's 4-1 Champions League win over Porto.

It was around this time, it is understood, that Hicks made it clear that speculation about him selling up was not true.

No way would DIC want to share. They would want full ownership.

AAAAAArrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh please stop my heads going to explode.

Rafa's leaving to go to Bayern Munich then he's getting the sack, no not the sack he's just leaving to be England manager no wait a minute is staying until he dies and it's the owners that are have a tiff and one of them is selling up and buying Roma no not Roma just selling up and the Arabs are back in the picture............

For f's sake what is going on with our club? someone from America needs to get their burger eating backsides on a plane and get over here and put this to bed. I do find the timing uncanny, we are in a very important time for the club with us needing to win to go on in the champions league and started to put some form together in the EPL. Could this just all be the manc's trying to un settle us :))

Because at the moment it just feels like a Pantomime or should i say Beauty Pageant and not Liverpool FC

I know there have been several links between us and Robert Kraft in the past plus a few rumours of him and Gillette teaming up. wouldn't be a bad thing if that happened. Kraft owns the New England Patriots, by far the best run and the winningest (the past 10 years) in the NFL.

It's just the London press getting nervous. They see we're going to challenge for the title, that we'll reach January first, and in March, thanks to rotation we'll be 8 points of difference with the second.

That's why they want Rafa out at all cost, and try to unsettle us.  Yes, I'm optimistic.

On the topic, Surely Moores did explain well the americans what taking charge of Liverpool means? I just don't think that they didn't plan this carefully, so I'd find extremely unbelievable now they want leave, despite what the press says.

If it's true, then we're in trouble, though, but it seems to me that it's YET ANOTHER NEGATIVE story about Liverpool.

I don't know if there is any truth in this (seems unlikely to me ), but my mate has told me that Gillett is trying to find a buyer for Hick's half of Liverpool, Hicks wants out, and thats why Hicks wont agree to any buying or selling until the situation is finalised. Hicks wants to wait till after we have qualified for the next stage of the Champs League before selling as obviously that would put the club finances in a better light.

Hicks and Gillett are both fuming with Rafa because his highlighting of problems at this time could ruin delicate negotiation and blow the whole deal.

It sounds pretty far fetched to me, how the hell could anyone know all that :D

I do believe we may have sold to the wrong people, but only time will tell.

Liverpool dismiss claim Tom Hicks is set to sell out
Nov 30 2007

by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL today emphatically denied reports that co-owner Tom Hicks is looking to sell his shares.

A report claimed that Hicks was preparing an exit strategy, just nine months after joining business partner George Gillett in a £298m takeover.

Chief executive Rick Parry said: "I have seen the story, and as far as I am aware it is complete rubbish."

The report claimed that Hicks had placed a staggering guide valuation of £1billion on the Reds, and that the Dubai International Capital group - who were set to buy the club before the deal collapsed in acrimony - were considering a new bid.

But Anfield supremo Parry, who is in regular contact with the co-owners, insists the story is new to him.

The Americans are currently understood to be working on a £500m refinancing package to fund the new Anfield stadium and refinance the £298m they borrowed from the Royal Bank of Scotland to buy the club this year.

There have been fears the duo, who claimed to have "purchased the club with no debt on the club," could sink the Reds into debt depending on the level of their own personal fortune sunk into the refinancing deal.

The Americans originally took over the club with a loan scheduled to be repaid by 2009.

They always intended to refinance, but a worldwide credit crunch means the terms they are refinancing under are likely to be worse than those received from the RBS.

A £500m loan is 16 times Liverpool's operating profit for 2007.

Manchester United's level of debt is only eight times their operating profit, but the Americans believe the new stadium plan will very quickly become self-financing.

Arsenal's move to the Emirates Stadium raised turnover from £37m in 2006 to £200m in 2007 and doubled their matchday revenue from £44.1m to £90.6m over the same period.

But in order to replicate that success, the Reds must maintain money-spinning Champions League progress in the short term.

Though Hicks himself has not been available to comment on the sell-out report, he is understood to have been aware of the rumour. Not only is he said to have dismissed the claim, he is understood to have been angered by it.

Meanwhile Pepe Reina today called on the Reds to forget about their European exploits and to prepare for the physical challenge which will be posed by Bolton at the weekend.

He said: "The dressing room is very confident because we are in a good moment.

"It is extremely important for us to keep winning and we have a difficult game against a physical team so we have to prepare well for that."

It only makes sense that if the owners are looking for loans and working on it is because they don't plan to leave.

Any expert on enterprises economy? those figures of debt, from my ignorance, seem worrying, I expect they have everything well planned.

In all honesty, if Hicks is in over his head then the sooner he gets out the better.

I would vote for Steve Morgan to partner Gillett rather than unknown a-rabs.

As for Parry, well he aint doing his job obviously. He needs to be let go and someone who knows what there doing come in.

Been to long coming aswell. We have shaken most of the deadwood from the Houllier era now for the hierarchy!
