Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby big al » Tue Nov 27, 2007 8:19 pm

I have to go out to work but is it possible for one of you guys to find the Americans business emails for are beloved Owners. It would be nice to drop them a line later.  If so post it here and spread the word.  Its a really annoying thing to get too many emails some systems can't cope. If someone does get an email address, go easy folks.

If, like many Liverpool supporters, you're deeply worried about the position of our manager Rafael Benitez following recent press reports, please take 5-10 minutes to contact the Owners of the Club via Phone, Fax, Email or Regular Mail to voice your concerns.

* THIS IS ALL PUBLICLY AVAILABLE INFORMATION SOURCED FROM THE INTERNET *

The 001 in the phone and fax numbers refers to the international dialing code followed by the local US code and number, this is the exact dialing format if calling from the UK (i.e dial 001-214...). If outside the UK, I don't know what you have to dial to contact the US (it might be the same format), check with your local operator or phone company.

They seem a bit pi$$ed at the moment.

I don't think filling their company's email system and clogging up phone lines is going to put them in a better mood.

Dundalk- so long as it is done in a respectful way why shouldn't they be made fully aware of how the fans (who ultimately will pay for the stadium and contribute to their profit) feel about their Manager?

So they will be mad at the people who are the lifeblood of their newly acquired business? hmmm and do what exactly- throw a fit and host an empty stadium from then on?

If they don't understand LFC; now is the time for them to be educated gently by the fans.

Dear Rob,
I would very much appreciate it if you could pass this email on to Mr Hicks.

Dear Mr Hicks,
I would like to bring your attention to the feelings of dismay at the current difficulties in relationships with yourself Mr Gillett and Mr Benitez. I like so many of my fellow Liverpool fans have been very disturbed at the apparent break down in communication which the media is portraying.  I am aware that with the british media they can cause a storm in a tea cup however I feel It is important to voice my concerns.  I understand the investment you and Mr Gillett have and are making in the club but I would hope you never overlook the most important invest IE your staff.  I appreciate the complexities you both face in overseeing one of the worlds top sporting clubs and what for many is an institution.  howvever It is vital that all your staff and employees are supported and empowered to carryout the work for which they are paid.  In  keeping with that train of thought it would be very very wrong for any employee not to Be open and honest in their analysis of the current operations and of its failures.  I believe Mr Benitez is exercising not only his responsibility to the owners but much more importantly his massive responsibility to the fans and supporters without whom Liverpool FC would be meaningless.  It is important that no matter what the consquences, someone has to tell the Emperor, Sire, you have no clothes.  The Qualities that make Liverpool unique are not merely it successes and it trophies or history of footballing greatness.  No, Liverpool FC has had since the reign of the great Bill Shankly qualities and principles which are the envy of every top footballing club in the world.  Namely, Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Straight Talking and Trust.  These are the qualities that mean that they never wash their dirty linen in public, the talking goes on behind closed doors.  So it saddens me deeply to see this public conflict.  I would ask that you please sort out the communication difficulties and that we return to our principles and ethos.  I accept that you may both feel a little abashed by Mr Benitez so on behalf of the millions of Liverpool fans who adore and love the man I would apologise on his behalf.  I would also remind you that all greatness comes with a touch of anger. Great leaders such a Alexander the great, George Washington, Lincoln,J F Kennedy even Ghandi got angry at times.  All the worlds greatest artists and writers, inventors and poets got angry.  This is what makes them great they all need to be a little bit ruthless and at times annoying, but they are always remembered because they give us memories and make dreams come true and for a brief moment we too are part of their greatness.

Thankyou
Best Wishes
Big Al

I feel the same way.5-0 to the press in my opinion. So many knee jerk reactions on here its almost insulting to our intelligence. So many people talking about rafas sacking but the people who havent mentioned it are the people in charge. So many people slating the americans who have invested in our future, so many people believing the hype that has been built up by the people who are in the same status as me and the average joe, so many people in the media who know what they say goes regardless. So many people will be left feeling daft come the new year.

I agree with what Luke said on the other thread (as I've been saying it myself for a bit now :D ) that our upcoming games in the next three or four weeks will decide Rafa's fate more than any e-mails will. Lets face it, if the Yanks are far from convinced that spending twenty-odd million quid on a striker who you don't play in two consecutive League games (neither of which you score a goal in) is not necessarily the most sensible thing to do, they are hardly on their own. Similarly, if they think a rotation "Rafa-style" policy is not the most likely to produce a title winning team, they wouldn't be on their own either.

I've said now for a couple of months that if the owners's advisors are not rotationists (imagine FFS if I was their advisor !! :p :D) then Rafa would be on a sticky wicket fairly soon, and he is. One of two things would need to happen it seems to me, and neither of them are e-mails from fans.

Either Rafa has to make the rotation "Rafa style" work, or at least be seen to be working. By this I mean he would obviously have to get out of the group in the Champions League, and be at least mathematically and probably actually involved in the title race. Now Manchester Uniteds curious decision to "rest" Ronaldo on Saturday, and their subsequent defeat means that victory over them is now no longer a must to stay involved in some capacity. I would venture that we still probably need to win the game as we have trips to Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd to come in the second half of the season, but for the short term, avoidance of defeat could be construed as being enough. Defeat on the other hand would confirm IMHO my earlier claim that we were already out of it.

The other alternative to Rafa making the rotation "Rafa-style" appear to be working, would be an acceptance that infact it isn't ever going to work in the Premeirship and to move on accordingly. If we were out of Europe and out of the League it still may not be enough tosave the manager from the bullet, but for me at least if he were to alter his policy on team selection to a more conventional approach, I'd back him to the hilt. He does buy some top players at very reasonable prices, and is tactically very astute. I also think his heart is well and truly in the club, so to my mind he deserves to be given the fullest chance of success.
