Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Bammo » Fri Nov 16, 2007 11:06 am

With all the rotation and striker discussions raging I thought I'd do something to lighten the mood. I've been on the board for a few months now so I thought I'd list the truths I've learnt from everyone (even if they contradict each other) :p

1) Crouch is not Liverpool quality.

2) Crouch should start every game with Torres.

3) This is because Kuyt is the worst footballer ever to play for the club and it's a miracle he made it to professional level.

4) But he still has the ability to score us 20 goals a season.

5) Torres can win us a game by stepping on the pitch.

6) Hyypia's top speed is now 3.2 mph.

7) No manager using rotation will ever win the league.

8) Rotation devotee Rafa will win us the league within 2 years.

9) No thread is complete without at least three personal insults and 15 quotes per post.

10) Every thread will end with a rotation/Kuyt debate.

11) Harry Kewell gets injured even if he remains motionless.

12) Babel has the control of a newborn deer.

13) But he's also the next Henry.

14) Gerrard is our best ever player.

15) But the sooner he's out of the club, the better team we'll be.

 Feck off mate that's just being ridiculous. On the subject of rotation, did you know that in fact this is just about the first time in his Liverpool career that Kuyt has actually been rotated. He certainly wasn't rotated in either phase A or phase B. Even if we take into account the Carling Cup games, he has never actually been an enforced rotation.

Nobody has ever suggested that he has, so to say that EVERY thread descends into a discussion on it is just plain wrong in my view.

No thread will ever be made which contains more than five pages of answers, while Rafa is still the manager, that will not contain the word rotation at least once. I know it for a fact because I personally make sure of it   :eyebrow  :D

Sorry, was just a bit of fun to show how diverse the opinions on the forum are (which is what makes it enjoyable). The points were tongue in cheek (hence the smilies/contradictions). Obviously this has missed the point so if it's gonna end up in people getting in a strop then just delete the thread.

 That original thread made me smile, except the top 3.2 Mph of Hyypia we could read that often.

Good humour, it's a well known fact that in football forums topics and things are repeated as a broking record.

16) that stats can tell you just about anything you want them to despite the fact that they never lie

17) that the clamour to come up with fanciful names for new "brigades" every other day is the sole purpose of the forum for many people (I dub these types the "let's call em the _ brigade" brigade)

18) that the glory, prestige and not insubstantial prize money for starting the official match thread gets the better of some people, who would have us talking line-ups and tactics a month and a half in advance

19) that calling someone 'fickle' is now officially worse than slagging off their mother

20) that the WAGs/HABs of Newkitters are secretly thrilled we spend so much time on here, as it spares them from having to listen to our tedious ramblings about "the football"
:D

21) When the transfer windows opens, names like Simao and Quaresma and Uncle Albert, will inevitably appear.
