Do you thinl Tyson had the style to live with some of the old time great heavyweights?

To me he was just a brawler he never seemed to have any fight pattern when he did eventually fight someone with a bit of style about him ie Holyfield twice he came unstuck.

Ali would of danced him round the ring and then come at him with the quick one two. he liked to control the tempo of the fight I  dont think Tyson would of got near him

Frazier actualy simular style to Tyson would have been the more powerful they both liked to stay close to there opponents but Frazier was a bob and weave specialist who loved the jab

Marciano would of just kicked his i saw a fight of his once where he was cut completly down the nose the man just carried on like it was a scratch Marciano was a slugger with an outstanding uppercut

Louis what more can you say about the man
69 wins 55 by knockouts the mans record speaks for itself
Louis was a fighter with power in his punches he would wear the man down and then go for the knockout

So as far as im concerned no Tyson wouldnt have lived with any of these.

But then thats my opinion

when i was about 9 or 10 conteh had a fight at liverpool stadium, he was fighting an american (i dont remember his name now). at the top of our street there was a boxong gym above a small matal fabricators workshop. the guy conteh was fighting trained in there before the fight, we were allowed in as kids to watch, it was great

yeah that name rings a bell, he used to come down our road in a black limo to go training. the gym was a right dump as well, proper boxing sweaty gym.

I remember Conteh very well. He had big problems with his hands, kept breaking bones when he hit people hard. Was good with a head butt though, finished off a few fighters with his head.

I always thought Duran was unbeatable till he fought Leonard the second time, I couldn't believe it when he gave in.

I think Roberto Duran would have been unbeatable if he had stayed as his natural weight. Its all about the bigger purse now. The lighter man will always struggle against the naturally heavier guy. Who would have beat De La hoya at his weight, or Trinidad , they would have reigned supreme for much longer.   But Duran was as good as it gets, his private life was a mess when he tackled Leonard the second time, and just got worse.  Cant make excuses -Leonard danced rings round him that night and made him look silly.

Some truly great heavyweights you mentioned too Nanny red, and everyone will have different opinions on that. My old man raved about Joe Louis and his 6 inch ko punch lol but i think Tyson in his prime would have been too feriocious for any of them.

At 39 he gave a great performance against Rahman, though it was marred by the head butt.

Lennox Lewis had the makings of an All-Time Great, but boxing folk will never forget that he was knocked out with a single punch from an average fighter not once, but twice. No other great heavyweight champion, the company to which Lewis aspires, has that distinction,. The legacy he speaks of will always be tainted by loses of a type never seen from Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Ali, or Holmes. When previous champions were knocked out in their prime or as champion, it was almost invariably by other great fighters. he was weak mentally and also a coward. Yes a coward, raping a woman, biting Holyfields ear when losing as didn't want to get knocked out, trying to break Bothas arm in a clinch.

Here's a question - name one tough fight he ever one i.e. a fight where he was up against it and turned it around and won. He ranks nowhere on my list - except my biggest waste of talent list.
