Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

bigmick wrote:Couple of observations. Firstly, Crouch is doing what we all said he would do for the last few weeks, that is to say offering more than Kuyt and Voronin put together. Surely now a sustained run in the team for the big man, if only so we can get  few quid more for him should he be sold in January.

Secondly, Masherano has been excellent again and is playing much more like the footballer many of us believed he was. Thirdly, Benayoun is offering more actual goal threat tonight than Pennant ever has and probably deserves to play more often. Thirdly, it's nice to see Aurelio playing back to somewhere near his best, the feeling persists that he is probably the best left-back at the club. Fourthly, Arbeloa looks good and will be really challenging Finnan if he continues as he is.

Sixthly, given we are going to win the game and are playign reasonably well, hows about we try something new and play this same team in the next match if none of the big guns come back? Unchanged team and all that? Just a thought.

Oh and seventhly, how the feck did this lot beat us over there? They are absolute garbage.

EDIT: Sh!te I forgot fifthly. Fifthly I still don't rate Voronin.

EDIT: Eighthly, if I'm not mistaken, Benayoun is playing so well I reckon he'll get a hat-triack tonight  :D  :D

Just kidding, I cheated with the last bit.

I agree most of that. Happy to read Yossi has done a great job, I didn't like him against Blackburn that much.

Glad aswell to read Mascherano has played well again, to be honest, he did a great job against Blackburn and I don't think he was the culprit of our bad run whatsoever

I've always regarded Crouch as our second striker, I think we had a thread about that not long ago and I placed him second. Glad he's been professional enough to come back from the situation he was, and glad Rafa has spotted when a player must be played.

I even will admit the point of not changing the team much :D, maybe just one or two changes? :)
