I am white, I am English what do I have in common with an immigrant who is not English and has little in common with me?

I do not want to be confronted by their culture on my mother land, if I wanted that I'd go to their country.

I know Germanic is not proper English, there is no such thing, but it's the closet thing to English, more so than someone from Indian or African heritage.

I suggest you go back to where you came from fcking sponging immigrant :eyebrow

Born here, of indigenous origin and love my country, I am more than with in my right to stay here. Why don't you go home?

I'm as English as warm beer, but you know you are not, in fact you know where you descend from, why not find your real roots, and culture.

Yes, I do not need to acknowledge every nation that fought in WWI and WWII, I know about the Irish, Scots, French, Dutch, Russians.

But the fact is, Europe wouldn't save an Englishman if he was dying, we are scum, just because we owned 1/3 of the world long ago.

And people wonder why we are superior?

Their fight is not disrespected by me, so if you are trying to say that I am racist towards blacks or people of a different background, you would be misinformed as per usual, it would seem.

So, is there nothing a white, Englishman can learn from or appreciate in the culture of another?  Are you so assured that your culture--a culture, I might add, that is riddled with elements drawn from the decidedly non-white, non-English world thanks to colonialism--is perfect as is?  If so, I truly, truly pity you, lad.  :no

Ok firstly I hope you get the chance to die for your country. I will wear a poppy with pride and think about you.

I was hoping you were going to fade away but alas no.

The original natives to Britain were celts, these were descended from the Indian subcontinent, although I am talking about a long time ago.

Then the anglo saxons settled,  I assume from saxony which is in Germany.

Then the Normans, who were French.

Things kinda settled down for a bit but since we then wandered around the planet discovering things we also bouht some of these chaps back to live here as well.

In the fifties we had large scale immigration from the West Indies to do the terrible jobs we didnt want to do, but it was the least we could do as they happily fought and died to preserve the freedom the British Empire, especially against those other saxon type descendants who were intent on creating the perfect society you dream of.

Then those fellas from India and its neighbouring countries came over.  We had curry.  Im kinda happy about that.

Now the poles are here to pick potataoes for 4 an hour.  I am not that outraged as I wouldnt do that job, but am happy to buy cheap potatoes in the supermarket so I have more disposable income to buy beer served by some Pole, cos I wouldnt work in a bar on a Friday night.

Oh I forgot about Africa.  Dont know much about the place except for the fact that humans originated there.

But considering the British argument, well us celts were happy wandering the forests and tripping on the shrooms till you lot turned up,  so kindly leave.

And on the subject of potatoes, roast potatoes, mash, chips, cant get more British than that, well thank the lord these vegetables made it past immigration. Can you imagine having fried turnips and cheesy beans when your drunk.  Oops no beans sorry, and no tomatoes.

I am also interested in what you define as English culture, could it be the literature of Oscar Wilde and James Joyce, that type of stuff.

If I want to learn about other cultures, I would travel the world, I don't want non English cultures rammed down my throat on my own door step, do you understand this? And I am sure there are elements of other cultures in traditional British society, I don't doubt this for a second, but I like tradition, I am a tory after all and I am a romanticist, this new cosmopolitan Britian is an ugly mess.

Yes, the yanks did eventually help us out in WWII.

Only after much of Europe had been invaded and decimated by the Nazi's.

The good old yanks who happily sat back and adopted an isolationist policy whilst a crazed dictator was allowed to steam roller Europe.

The good old yanks who only intervened after being attacked directly themselves.

Europe being on its knees suited the yanks, that's the reality.

They profited greatly from supplying us with munitions and other war supplies, with interest on top of that, only repayed in 2006 I believe.

It was Europe who bore the brunt of WWI and WWII, not the yanks.

Yes, but I must point out Wilde is Irish, but even so that's what I mean by English or British for want of a better word.

I will fade away, my friend, I shall leave and nought return.
