Jamie Carragher's Restaurant - Top Scoff

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby jonnymac1979 » Sun Oct 28, 2007 2:34 pm

It's on Stanley Street by the Met Quarter in Liverpool City centre.  My brother and I went there yesterday afternoon to see what it was like.

• Very tasty little blonde lass on the door welcoming you in.  Worth going just for a look at her.  She's good - and she knows it...
• Reasonably priced for a couple of bottles of Budweiser.
• 12 inch Margarita pizza on a thin base is like a light-bite and was indeed tasty.
• Here's the killer... it's got about 50+ plasma screens all over the place.  Yestrday, there was a QPR game on and you couldn't move for football.

It's not a place where you can go and get pissed with your mates.  It's a sit down restaurant, you're encouraged to eat.  It would be a good place to start the night off if you wanted a meal before going and getting laced.

I'll be going again.

Oh yer, another couple of things.

• Enormous montage of Carragher celebrating the 2005 Istanbul win with the scoreboard behind him proclaiming 'Winners' as soon as you walk in directly to the left.  Unfortunately, Everton celebrating from some long forgotten trophy win in "The Eighties" (© Everton Football Club, it belonged to them you know...) is also there but just don't look to your right...
• All the staff wear the number 23 on the back of their uniforms.  Nice touch.
• Autographed pictures of sporting legends all over the place including local boxer Smigger, Bob Paisley and Robbie Fowler.
• The actual building itself is one of those classy places with old style brick all over the place a bit like those bars at the Albert Dock (that I admittedly can't stand being in...), but they do look the part.  You can just tell you're in a classy place and you wouldn't mind your apartment looking like this.  Fat chance though...
• You probably won't get any Everton fans in there.  Spoke to my bitter mate last night and told him I was nearly phoning him to ask him to come and meet us when we were in there.  His reply: "Why would you do that to me?"

Where is it exactly John ? On the same side as the met quarter ? I go past there on the bus on the way to work and will have to try and have a look. Been wondering where it would be since i seen him on the news ages ago talking about it.
Thought it might of been where the olds sports bar is, or where the new circus casino is going to be.

Yeah, why go to a swanky restaurant created by one of your clubs  legends that sells top grub, when you can go to a mates place and have a box of Micro Chips and microwavable burgers?

Opposite the Met Quarter over the road from it just before Victoria Street if you're coming from Whitechapel.

X marks the spot...

The bill came to about £15 quid something for the pizza and two bottles of Bud.  The 12 inch Margarita was sound though.  Proper thin crust on it.  Going to go back there just for that again.
