As far as i can tell..thats it.  :(

That's f*ckin insane. No team can hope to mount a challenge on the title when their squad gets hit with a blight of injuries as bad as that, especially when most are important squad and key players. How players manage to get injured as regularly and as easily as they do in the modern game today is beyond me. Imagine if we only had the 18 or so players we had when we were winning the league back in the day. We'd be f*cked by now. No team.

I think we won it one season with only 14 players!!

We nearly have that many injured now

Maybe that will teach us not to tempt fate by boasting about how few injuries we have had since we started rotating  :(

but it will not stop sky going on about rotation, next week as if rafa has any choice

torres wanted to be back before he was fit and has done himself no favours

xabi is just terrible luck, but what is the cause of all these b@stard foot problems now a days

pennent out is a plus point

kewell in is more of a shock than kewell out

agger will be a big welcome back if he can find his form quickly, and sami needs the break

this is the time when people need to show how good they are when they get into the first team( but how many young stars have we got that are good enough)

That's IF they even get regular games, mate. Does my t*ts in, honest to f*ck like. Since Alonso is out, why not let Leiva at least take a crack at his possition. He's got it in his locker to fill the role, I feel. Also Babel SHOULD now start games up front, because Kuyt and Voronin just don't look up to scratch at all.

Torres being out for three weeks I think is a lot less of a big issue than it may first seem to be. If you look at the next three weeks we have four games:

Cardiff
Blackburn
Besiktas
Fulham

And then we place Newcastle away on the 24th of November. So let's consider that Torres will be back by that game that would mean that he would only miss games that we should be able to win convincingly without him. The only tough match, in my opinion, will be away to Blackburn. Besiktas and Fulham at home should not be a problem, especially the desperation that will be felt when playing Besiktas in the Champions League. Fulham should not be a problem, and then by this time Torres should soon be ready to come back.

I don't think Torres' injury will be as big of a deal.

Agree! The games at home should be winable with who is left injury wise and Kewel is coming back to fitness who does play with bight and drive when he is match fit. Should have enough to cope till we get our artillery back.

Liverpool Injury News Update

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has given an update on the state of his squad, and it’s good news for Javier Mascherano.

Manager Rafa Benitez has revealed that Torres is likely to be out for a fortnight, whereas Mascherano is back training with the first team.

Benitez said: "It is the same problem as before with Fernando. Hopefully he can be fit in two weeks.

"We thought he was ready for the Arsenal game and during the match I asked him two or three times if he was okay because clearly he wasn't fit. He is not the sort of player who normally gets injuries and that's the reason he didn't feel what he had. That was the problem.

"Javier is okay. He trained today and so we've had good luck with him."

Meanwhile, Daniel Agger, who hasn't featured since Portsmouth on September 15, is still around two weeks away from a return following a metatarsal break.

Benitez added: "He is continuing to progress but with this kind of injury he needs time. I think we need to wait another 10-16 days."

The Reds are still awaiting news on the extent of Xabi Alonso’s problem, with the Spaniard having seen a specialist on Tuesday afternoon.

Liverpool have been handed a boost with the news that Fernando Torres has returned to training.

The Spanish star was expected to be sidelined for up to three weeks with the adductor injury he picked up in the draw with Arsenal at the end of last month.

Torres missed Saturday's goalless draw with Blackburn and his presence was sorely missed as The Reds again drew a blank in front of goal.

The former Atletico Madrid man has made a quicker than expected return to training and he was a surprise face at the club's training ground on Monday as they prepare for Tuesday's crucial UEFA Champions League clash with Besiktas.

It seems unlikely that Reds boss Rafa Benitez will risk playing Torres against Besiktas as he will be keen to see his star striker avoiding a recurrence of the problem.

FFS   Almost got a heart attack, when I saw the title of this thread on top of the page... just two days before our game with the mancs!

Luckily I then realised, that it was just an old post injury wise :D

Simple mistake, mate...no harm done.  I'm locking this thread, though, so that more people don't soil themselves!  :D
