Hate to make one line posts, but that's all you need to know really. It's a muscle tear.  :(

Bit more info...

A Liverpool spokesman summed up the players' injuries on liverpoolfc.tv:
On Torres, he said: "A scan this morning has shown a tear to a different adductor muscle to his original injury and we expect Fernando to be out for about three weeks.
On Alonso, he said: "An x-ray showed a fracture to the fourth metatarsal in his left foot. Xabi will be seen by a consultant tomorrow after which we will have a much better idea of the timescales involved.
On Mascherano, he said: "He had an x-ray which has showed no bone injury, but he will receive intensive treatment on extensive bruising in his foot."

Any word on when Torres re-injured himself?  Was it during the match or was he just not fit to begin with?

So thats Torres out for 3 weeks and Alonso out for another 6 (at least)? Hopefully Mascharano will be rested and ready for the weekend, hopefully we'll see what Lucus can do against Cardiff and if he performs against Blackburn, please God, NO MORE INJURIES

With Sissoko ill before the Arsenal game , it leaves us down to the bare bones in midfield....... Lucas and Gerrard, which means Gerrard might not get a rest for quite a while now.

fortunately it's not too bad with an international break coming up. we should beat cardiff and fulham at home without him anyway.

he should be back for newcastle on the 24th november.

Looking at these games, you'd be forgiven for thinking they were easy. Not so now with our injuries, and given our goals seem to be drying up, it's a real worry now even just looking at these fixtures when normally I'd take them with a pinch of salt. Lose any of these games, and Rafa will be under an extreme amount of pressure, if he isn't already.

Blackburn away is the obvious toughie amongst those. Knowing our injury record at Blackburn, I am not exactly over the moon to be playing them now  :(  Thats all we fkn need, another broken bone (or two) at Blackburn.
