You're right - let's sign Eric Cantona.

I thought the team was rather fortunate not to have lost the match 4-2 or 4-1, had Arsenal’s finishing been better from Cesc and Nicklas and had Cesc won the clear penalty for Arsenal after Carragher threw him to the ground, it could have been a true beating, fortunately for the team it didn’t end in such a sour manner.

It’s was ashame to see the team on the back foot (at home) for much of the match due to Arsenal’s finesse attacking play, it was a pleasure to watch at times.

I felt Kuyt had another shocking game, people can defend him until the cows come home for milking, but the guy lacks any end product whatsoever, I hope today’s match has swayed Rafa into selecting Peter for matches from here on out.

Rafa’s decision to play Arbeloa in CM baffled me and ultimately such a decision cost us three points, it was Alvaro who allowed Cesc to run onto Hleb’s chip pass and score against a wrong footed Reina.

A point is not the worst result in the world against an Arsenal team who look the business. I felt the team should have and could have pressed Arsenal up the pitch and created a lot more chances than they created, but I guess beggars’ can’t be choosers, so a point is satisfactory given the circumstances.

It’s also a grave shame to have lost Alonso and Torres again, is there any news on when they’ll be back in action?

All hope appears dashed already even after good investment in the summer and its hard to take.

Arsenal are magnificent and guided by probably the best manager in world football.

Its just we seem to be heading for another finish outside the top 3 and so early in the season its plain to see that we are no better than last season.

You're moaning in the aftermath of a game where we got a point against a team that - in your opinion - are magificent.

Our hopes are dashed after a draw 10 games into the season?

I swear to god I'm starting to think messageboards should be locked immediately after matches.  :D

im just pointing out we really need a top class link man

torres has played most of his career as a lone striker anyway, we need some1 behind him linking mid and attack who can also weigh in with 15 a season

This is what gets me at the minute - Rafa's decision did not cost us the three points. A situation on the pitch cost us three points. Unless Rafa told Arbeloa to give Fabregas a shooting opportunity, you're talking absolute sh*te.

Maybe it was Rafa's fault that Reina was on the wrong foot as well? Maybe if Pako hadn't left, he'd have drilled it into the keeper that in a situation like that, he should have his weight on his other foot?

We got injuries on the pitch, we had limited resources on the bench, he could've rejigged the midfield, he chose to play a defensive player in Alonso's place. Under the circumstances, given the fact that Arsenal were all over us at the time, it was a fairly sensible-looking decision to me.

Honestly, some of the people calling themselves our fans at the moment are doing my f*cking head in.

I think you'll find the "ifithadntbeenfer" club are the ones in blue up the road. They'll no doubt be delighted to have you.  :no

Marvellous idea.

However, IT'S F*CKING OCTOBER AND WE HAVE WHAT WE HAVE UNTIL F*CKING JANUARY.

Even if your previous post hadn't clued us all in, the use of "some1" makes it clear that you're about 11, if that.

I was quite pleased with the game today, but I'm really f*cking livid with some of our (alleged) fans in the aftermath. Is this what our fanbase talks like now?

I can't believe if you watched the game that you came to that conclusion. Alonso did very well and didn't disppoint the many who claimed that he would make a difference, he did. To say that he had Fabregas in his pocket is patently obviously ridiculous.

For one thing they were mostly operating away from each others area of the pitch, and for another the Arsenal man was hugely influencial on what was a good perfromance from them, it would be silly to pretend otherwise.

Christ it’s Jeremy Clarkson, ok my initial point is way ward, but who sticks a defender in centre midfield and expects that player to play against Cesc, one of Europe’s finest young CM’s?  Rafa called the wrong decision IMO and it proved costly, because Arbeloa’s decision not to track back and cut out Cesc ultimately proved costly.

Of course Arbeloa, the defence and Reina are at fault, but Rafa’s decision to play a full back in the CM position against Arsenal is inviting problems. It’s happened now, and it’s dealt with, but it was a strange decision IMO.

I can have my own individual opinions right?
