More that Arsenal were just not allowing us to perform.

We couldn't keep the ball.

8 shots to 10 tells you it's not like we were overrun.

So I should take the "Doom and gloom" posts with a pinch of salt then until I have watched what I can of the game ?

Whats the news on the Torres and Alonso injuries ?

Oh we were well overrun in the first half. We had some possession during the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half and towards the end for another 10 minutes AFTER arsenal scored.

We were well and truely outplayed today. I was in a Liverpool friendly pub in London. Fair due to the fans for remaining calm, but the frustration at our style of play was more than evident, even a couple of hours after the match was over.

Are you on a wind up or what ?

Can you be more specific ? A wind up about what

I went Paintballing
I don't think a draw is the worst result
It sounding like we didn't perform
I am watching MOTD2 later OR the fact they show limited highlights

The one about your "team" playing the top of the league and rather than go the game, rather then go the pub, rather than go to your mates, rather then watch it on sky, rather than watch it online, rather than listen on the radio, rather then listen online you went paintballing.

This style of play  WITH Torres in the side? How do you expect to use his pace. skill and intelligence?

Did you watch the match on the teletext ?

Ok, I'm assuming that you are being sarcastic again !

no, for once (or twice) I am being serious.

Torres was not fit and did not feature in hte game, he was a passenger.

Erm yeah thats right as much as I would love to be a 'Top Red' like you ? I had already made plans to go well in advance of the game. I didn't think for one minute that my not watching the game in any way would affect the way the team played or the result and can only apologise profusely   :D

It was obvious quite early into the 15th minute that a substitution was on the way. Crouchie had started warming up.
And yes, Torres was a passenger, that much was obvious.

But 2 points to consider:

(1) His team-mates surely knew he was not fit, then why hoof the ball knowing he can't get to it

(2) I don't understand why Rafa didn't pull him out early

Not a bad result. Still only six points from the top. Shame about the lapse that let Fabregas in though.

I'm still waiting on the game :(  but going by recent form I'm content with a draw.

I can picture Kuyt though, coming deep running around like a headless Chicken, working hard.

Going on recent displays, we still need what we needed last season. A CB, Another quality striker, and a wideman.

Kuyt isnt the answer, he'd be a decent squad player or if we could cash 12 million in on him that would be okay.

Voronin, hmmm doesnt look all that, maybe we can sell him for a penny or two, either way its profit.

There is only one point to consider, that is that Torres was not fit, so not even Paul Daniels and David Blaine running hte midfield could have used his skill or pace.

I feared the worst before the game and I cant fault the workrate and effort but to me the side still lacks genuine quality.

i agree with this

both players are good enough against teams like derby, bolton etc

but in the big games they simply dont have that cutting edge that you need to turn and cause problems to the better defenders in the league

this is true

also when rafa first arrived i remember a few home 3-0 wins when we kept the ball like his valencia team and looked really fluent and slick

whats happend?

we know play like we have a team of calrton palmers or something.
