Agger's vital.

The last few weeks have proved that.

A centre back must be on the agenda at Xmas.

A CB should have been on the shopping list in the summer, if not the previous summer/January

2007/8

Carragher : P13 W6 D5 L2
Conceded : 11
Goals/Game : 0.85
Clean Sheets : 5 (38.46%)

Hyypia : P11 W6 D3 L2
Conceded : 7
Goals/Game : 0.64
Clean Sheets : 6 (54.55%)

Agger : P6 W4 D2 L0
Conceded : 2
Goals/Game : 0.33
Clean Sheets : 4 (66.66%)

Hyypia's record may look quite good, however the clean sheets include Toulouse home and away, Sunderland away, Wigan away, Derby at home and Brum at home ie not the greatest teams we've played. He was also found wanting in recent games including the spudz game losing headers to Berbatov, and his two own goals didn't help - cost us one game and nearly cost us against the bitters.

Carra's only missed two games so it is inevitable he will have played in all the defeats.

Owzat, mate, I know the stats are kind of your thing but what exactly do these numbers tell us that we didn't already know? ???

Okay my starting eleven.

                             Reina

        Finnan     Carra     Agger     Arbeloa

               Masha     Gerrard   Alonso
                                 .
         Babel                 .             Kewell
                                 .

                              Torres

See Sabre, there is Alonso. Like you said both him and Mascha played well together against Arsenal, for the good of the team. Also for the good of the team I've kept Gerrard central, but the onus would be on him to bombard forward more.

Pennant and Benayoun could be sensibly rotated with Kewell and Babel.

I think thats a pretty strong team.

my first choice team would be:

                                reina

arbeloda          carra             agger            aurellio

                           masch         alonso

                                   gerrard

                  torres                               babbel

                                   crouch

this way the team wud be balanced in defence and attack but more impoertantly comfortable on the ball

gerrard wud be able to go forward loke we all want him to do and the defence could play there way out of trouble instead of hoofing it clear

in attack we have pace power and height

and the midfeild can link perfectly between defence and attack
