if three years is an underachievement as you imply, it is a hell of an underachievement since we won the CL and a FA cup during that time...

back to the topic... personally I'd give rafa 2 more years if we don't win anything this season... sacking a manager who won us the CL and the FA cup in his first 2 years because he didnt' win anything for 2 years is abit too hasty IMO... this is probably the first season that rafa has managed to assemble a squad he is to a certain extent satisfied with...

I can’t speak for Peewee, but I get the impression he is referring to the league and not the domestic and European cup competitions.

In the cup competitions the team has been spectacular, I doubt anyone would say otherwise, but in the league the team has underachieved and keeps on doing so. It’s not the case of winning trophies to keep Rafa in his position; it’s about building a team and using the right methods to force a sustained challenge and capture of the Premiership.

If Rafa cannot for whatever reasons bring Liverpool into strong league title contention with the club’s rivals then he has to go, it’s as simple as that.

The league is what we all want, but YOU CAN NOT just sweep aside the other achievements in the same time.

The half term report would read could do better, not has got to go.

It seems Sky and BBC are sending reporters to sit outside our club now, I hope we kick Arsenal butt this weekend.

I’m not dismissing his achievements at all, but I am also not going to allow Benitez or fans of his to hide behind these achievements. Istanbul was two and a half years ago, the FA cup final was a year and half ago.

Are you honestly going to suggest that these two successes guarantee Benitez as long as he wants at the club? For me the honeymoon period of both successes is finished and now its time to capture the league and build the trophy cabinet up into the high heavens.

If Rafa cannot deliver the league to Anfield, then he has to go. I’m not suggesting he is sacked at the end of this season or the next season either, but if he cannot bring this club into contention in the next few seasons, then he has to go.

Yes like the Sky news reporters camped outside Anfield now waiting for something big to break.

Do they? I get the distinct impression there are supporters who are highly supportive of Rafa and they’d happily wait season after season without fail until Rafa gets things right.

Of course there are fans who want Rafa gone now, that’s to be expected, as good as Rafa is, he doesn’t make life easy for himself. I know a few supporters who never wanted Rafa in the first place and have refused to support him, they both wanted Martin O'Neill. There’s no pleasing some people is there?

The media may have started the witch hunt but stupid 'fans' will fan the flames. We need to keep quiet for a while and not get involved in phone ins asking for Rafas dismissal, it does the the football club a disservice and even those who want him to leave should be able to see that it would serve no purpose to dismiss Rafa mid-season.

Of the six people on here that actually go to any matches well lets makes sure we drown out any booing, we have a reputation of dignity, assess the managers position at the end of the season.

Unfortunatly we have too many fckwits that consider themselves LFC supporters.

All Liverpool supporters would consider it a failure if as you have said we are not contending for the title within the next 3 years. ALL would agree to Rafa leaving in that case.

Those that support him cannot see the point in getting rid mid-season, and would like to evaluate him at the end of the season, not base judgement on a dodgy few games.

Both of your mates might want O'Neil, well they may get their wish one day, because Villa fans are not very impressed, he is another manager in the group of Redknapp, Allardyce that are fawned over by the press because they are considered 'one of our own'.....overrated, mediocre track record.

Only six people go to the games here? It must be much more no?

As for getting rid mid season, interestingly enough, when Arsenal won their last league, they also started weakly in the CL. They got one point in the first 3 CL matches, and then they won the next 3, and the league.

So on hindsight it would have been an error to sack Wenger after those 3 CL matches. It would be an error to sack Rafa in the same situation, and quite ironical to do so for underperforming in a competition that the same critics have been overlooking when it comes to talk about Rafa's success.

If MON ever managers our club I will stop supporting them.

Now is not the time for another 5 year plan Rafa and the players have made themselves easy targets they will just have get back to basics now.

And if we win on sunday the monday headlines will be Liverpool title contenders again.

Its very simple.
