playing crouch against the blue sh!te will be playing into their hands as the have no pace at the back, but i expect to see crouch kyte as the front two

as long as leto isn't on and pennant has one of his better games we will tw@T THEM BUT THEIR IS A LOT OF IF'S.

If gerrard plays well
If arteta is kept quite
If the fans don't get at the players too much early on
If torres is fit
and the list goes on

IT WORRIES ME THAT RAFA IS PLAYING BABEL AS A LEFT/RIGHT SIDED MIDFIELD PLAYER WITH DEFENSIVE RESPONSIBILITIES--
THAT IS HOW OUR "WINGERS" PLAY FOR THE MAJORITY OF GAMES

ITS OBVIOUS THAT THE LAD IS A WORLD CLASS TALENT FOR HIS AGE, BUT HIS REPUTATION HAS BEEN MADE BY PLAYING HIGH UP THE PITCH, NOT IN HIS OWN HALF.

IT REMINDS ME OF TIERRY HENRY WHEN HE WENT TO JUVENTUS, THE ITALIAN'S "TACTICS" PUT HIM ON A LEASH, I WONDER WHERE WENGER WOULD PLAY BABEL,,

I WANT TO SEE
THE WONDERKIDS TORRES AND BABEL UP FRONT,
RIENA IN GOAL ,

THEN RAFA CAN PICK HIS "2 LINES OF 4" OUT OF THE REST OF THE SQUAD
I've watched my Heroes throught the slats at Melwood,,
I've STOOD on the KOP,,
I've cried for the 96 ,,

Don't EVER question my loyalty or support.

Good post mate, but no need to SHOUT.

great post mate!

just the sort of confidence reaction
crouchy needs right now  :no
after all he has had plenty of oppurtunities
this season so far to let fans think otherwise!
for feck sake give the guy a decent run in the side
& then judge him, the "r" word certainly hasn"t
helped him so far this season, but i for one
still very much rate crouch & feel he has a
great deal to offer us this season, his confidence
may be effected at the moment, who knows
but i would defiently pick him against
the bitters, as i think that he can cause them
more problems, & help create more chances
if he is picked from the start, rather than
be used 10 or so mins from the end of the game
& be thought of as a liability.

Poor Ryan sleeping in......

It must be all the games he has played for us this season....:D

No seriously if Torres is unfit we need to go with Babbel upfront, we need pace to distrupt Everton on saturday. If you cast your mind back to Goodison last season we played right into the Sh!tes hand with our slow combo upfront.

if it was a reputable player like henry or totti it would be fine. people will smile about it but babel, who is just settling into engand and yet to make a mark, its kinda.....disgraceful to be honest.
but i pity him though. he must have had alot of traveling to do. hopefully this shakes him up.

It’s unprofessional behaviour at any stage and at any given reputation, if Totti and Henry were to both sleep in late, it would be as unprofessional as someone Babel’s age.

If Babel oversleeps then he should consider sleeping at an earlier time.

Well it's obvious rotations do not concern Babel, he doesn't lose any sleep on the matter :D

Jokes aside, reaching late due to oversleeping is a problem when you do it too often. Myself I'm considered a good worker by my boss or so they say, but I was overslept once or twice in 8 years. In my defence, my sleep is too deep, I wasn't woken up by a bomb on front of my house when I was a teenager and neither by the police that came afterwards! I've solved the problem with ultra noisy alarm rings that has led to some complain by nitpicking neighbour.

Anyway, as an isolated fact, I don't give it much importance. I just hope he doesn't do that often in melwood.

Who's actually been impressed with this lad as of yet?

I know he has only played in a handful of games but he doesn't have the making of a £11m player to me. He's fast and can dribble the ball granted, but often he just runs into players and his passing skills for a dutchman leaves a lot to be desired.

In my opinion Rafa should of gone out and got a proper winger instead of putting this guy in and waiting for him to develop into a striker. He's good but aint good enough at present and we needed a player who would enhance the first team, not be in reserve.

I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments, Rafa-Dodd. And before anyone comes forward with the "give the lad a chance"-argument, this has got nothing to do with that (imo). Of course I'm willing to give him a chance and I do believe he'll eventually be quite a good player, but for the 11 million quid we needed someone who could improve our team right away - and who is a natural winger as Rafa-Dodd said. Regarding Babel I would really like to see him deployed as a striker over the next couple of weeks when Torres is out, so we can have some pace upfront. This would also give him a bit of a run in the team, and maybe thus gain him some confidence, which he sometimes seems to be lacking a bit. We're desperately short for pace upfront if we're playing with a combination of Kuyt, Voronin and Crouch, and therefore our game becomes very stale. God I wish Torres hadn't got injured again :(

PS: Hey Rafa-Dodd, whatever happened to your usual Oppo-thread? That was a good read.
