Took him 5 years to win the league in a much easier climate.

Now shut it.

Apologies if somebody already pointed this out but that must be a typo Lando surely? How can the "climate" be easier when we were in the second division when he took over?  :D

Because the money wasn't in the hands of our closest rivals.

Paper over it all you want, but it's a stone-cold fact that it was easier to win the league back in the 50's and 60's.

The idea of anyone underestimating the brilliance of Shankly beggers belief.

There is no manager around today who could compare with the man. We were going nowhere season after season and he turned us round by getting the best out of players just by the power of his man management.

Lando the shallowness of your knowledge of this team makes me wonder why you watch us. Some of us still remember players being 100% genuine on and off the pitch. The legacy of Shanks took us into the 90s when the phonies came in. The same man turning up today would do it again and even todays millionaires would die for him.

So despite being born after he died, I am supposed to have witnessed the man in action?

Try living for today, rather than for the 50's and 60's - you might find the advancements are much better.

P.S. If this is going to start getting personal, I'd just like to warn you that a certain tart might jump in to your rescue by moaning to a mod.

Just thought I'd put that out there...

I'm not disputing when it is easier to win the league. In any era though, to take over a team from outside the top flight and then get them promoted before winning the top division within five years is an absolutely staggering achievement. Cloughie did it as well more recently at Nottingham Forst of course.

I would venture that even if Rafa was to win the Premiership this season, serious comparisons with the likes of Shankly and Clough wouldn't be sensible. Much more realistic I think would be to compare him to more recent Liverpool managers and he's the best one we've had in well over a decade, of that there is no doubt.

Doesn't mean we've got to win it, because nobody knows for sure how we good we are yet. We need though to be achieving an end position and points total which is a fair indication of how good we are. Over achievement would be great, finishing "about where we belong" would do, another season of under achievement in the League though would be hard to take. My suspicio at this stage is that we ought to be within a couple of wins of winning it when the the points are counted up.

Took the words right out of my mouth Big Mick.

That's exactly the way I feel about this season.

Prob finish 3rd or 4th, might win 1 cup. Thats how it will pan out. "We will never win the premiership under Rafa" that is the way its going to be,

Reasons!!
1 To much rotation
2 donesn't know his best team
3 Has lost the backbone of his backroom staff
4 doesn't give players confidence "put an arm round them" tell them they can be the best.
5 Basically Rafa has become a tinker man !! A tinker man will not win the league....

To Do!!
1 Play your best 11 at every given oppurtunity
2 Bring in a number 2, somone who knows what Liverpool Fc is all about. Would love to see Alan Hansen work along side him!
3 Get the players motivated, make them feel they are going to be the best, give them credit when they have good games, make out you are proud they are your players and make everyone aware they are special players.

I hope i'm wrong but i feel Rafa Benitez is slowly losing the plot and needs help.

Hey but what do i know! Now i've said that we will prob go on a winning run and win everything, Maybe not !! But football is a funny old game....

My opinion i'm entitled to it !!!!!!!!!

PS, Crouch is going to Newcastle and we are bringing Owen home in January!!!!!!!!   No shittttteeeeeeeeeeeee

JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW TALK

ok voronin will be here for at least a season but i want at least crouch or kuyt out in the transfer window and another pacey striker in

because when we rotate torres out we lack pace upfront

we would all love to see quasimodo come but at 25 million i cant see it.......to be honest i only want a world class winger, pointless bringing in some1 average like gamst pederson who isnt that much better than what we have

centre back in......

realistically i think a centre back will be the only signing in the transfer window
