Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

He let the club down badly with that spitting incident and should never have played for the club again.

Another chance? No chance.

I read in the press that the problem is this character is going to cost us approx. 11 million pounds to get rid of him, if indeed we have to terminate his contract. IMO that is too much monet to get rid.

Unless of course someone comes in with a reasonable bid, so far all we have had is a loan enquiry from Portsmouth!!!! (Nice to see our assets are valued by the top clubs!?!?)

I think under that scenario, he should be given a chance, surely his performances in 2002 world cup for Senegal, must mean something?? hell, it seems IGOR will be getting a chance under the new regime??!!

It makes me think that Rafa does not like various aspects of Diouf's OFF field activities. I think his ability (all be it potential) is not in question??

By the way, I have just read Paul C's comments on Babbels attitude and lack of team spirit..................That is the biggest load of c***P I have heard in along time.

This guy epitomises what LFC is all about, and i for one think it is an insult to a player, who was a fantastic servant to this club.

el hadji diouf's ability is not in question. people also seem to forget that he's still very young. i don't think he's a bad footballer. i just think he's a player who was overpriced and was not really suited to premier league football, especially on the right wing.

Good comment St Michael. Diouf is just not suited to the premiership and he is quite simply never going to be a Liverpool player. We bought this guy because we thought we have a player now who is going leave full backs for dead with his pace and ability and how many times have we seen this?? We never hardly did at all. Now ive heard people go on about how he wasnt played in his natural position because he is a goalscorer. If people really think that Diouf should be playing up-front they must be crazy!!

up front is diouffs position. call me crazy but he is most effective as a lone striker as he plays for senegal and uses his strength and skill to hold the ball up and bring the midfield into the attack.

not for liverpool tho
cut me and i bleed red

agree with maximus re:babbel. He was another fantastic example of a great player that Houllier managed to weave his magic wand on and then discard.

Diouf has no place at anfield though....anyone who thinks he does needs to share whatever it is that they are taking

To be honest, i only found out about the spitting off someone in here, and i totaly forgot about it.

I think spitting is discusting.

Anyway, i bet if Diouf stays in the EPL he will score against us lol!

Diouf is a quality player, by far the most skillfull player in our team. It's just a shame that Gerard Houllier ruined him by playing him out of position- although i do feel he did a good job on the right for us. The question is if diouf does leave who will we have to play on the right, smicer- no thanks!!

I believe diouf was played in the wrong position all the time he was at LFC. ahving said that, he was also a selfish player who would not pass and move. Change is unfortunate and real but maybe he deserved another chance!

"He is a great player who we have been following for several weeks"

Has Malaga director of sport Manuel Ruiz Hierro been watching the same player?  Will the real EHD please stand up?

Won't be missed. Over priced and over payed. Massive mistake signing him.

Good riddance.
