I have never had a Liverpool top, all I have ever had is my scarf. My son already has about 5 or 6 Liverpool tops but also has an England one

Torres had a game which he is a renowned for in Spain. A game in where he missed many easy chances. Sabre pointed this out several times, saying that he would have a couple of games without scoring and then score, followed by games with him missing easy chances.

He's not a clinical centerforward. His performance against Reading was exceptional but he's not a clinical finisher. Robbie Fowler is a clinical finisher. Ian Rush was a clinical finisher.

Torres imo does not belong in such a category just yet.

It's still great to have him in the side though.

Apart from that, I'm very glad that I got out of the house and didn't watch the whole match because I would had destroyed everything in sight. I can't recall the time I've been more frustrated than today at half-time.

If you offered me the 1-0 result before hand I would have taken it easily.

Another note, we miss Alonso imo. Mascherano in the first half was abysmal in terms of possession.

We got the 3 points didnt we, some people are so doom and gloom on this site.

Unbeaten still in all cup and league matches.

Conceded just 2 goals in the league.

Still to concede from open play in the league

All of this when we havent really got going yet and we normally improve as the season hots up so plenty to be upbeat about.

A sign of a good team when they still manage to get results when they play sh!t. :D

If anyone had a chance to read Brian Reads collum in the daily mirrior this morning do so.

Its all about Rafas rotation even in his own house telling his missus not to use the toaster today and to use the grill instead because the toaster mighnt be working next march and to use the george forman insead of the oven because the george forman is at a better level.

I thought it was quite amusing if you get a chance to read it do so it will put a smile on your face!

Well however we won the game, whether it was down to a strong line-up being played, a dodgy bit of refereeing or whatever, it's a fecking good job we came through looking at the other results.

Man Utd are continuing to grind out wins despite having a tricky start and despite playing pretty poorly, while Arsenal followed up their win away at Spurs by winning away at West Ham. It does look like Chelsea are going to fall by the wayside given their turmoil which makes Rob Styles idocy all the more annoying, but clearly the other main two are now pressing on and getting onto a run. We have absolutely got to match them blow for blow over the next few eeks in my view. It doesn't really matter how we play as long as we keep grinding out the points. Fortunately as we are not playing to our full potential, we've got the best defence in the league so we only need to score once usually to win the games.

The league won't be won before christmas, but my feeling is that at least one of the big four (in all probablity Chelsea) will be out of the race by then. Our task is to ensure that once the race starts in earnest around the end of january, that we are still within touching distance of the lead.

Well went to the game.  We wouldn't set the world on fire with that performance but at least it's 3 points in the bag.  Took my eldest lad with me.  We had loads of stick from a :censored: sat behind us.  We sat in the wigan end but kept very quiet.  The idiot behind took exception to the goal and the abuse he screamed at us and the team was disgusting.  The stewards threatened to throw him out.  He had a scouse accent but supported wigan.  Was calling us all scum.  Told us we weren't true fans because we would have been sat in with the Liverpool fans.  What an idiot.  We only wanted to watch the game in peace. In fairness Wigan had more of the possession just couldn't finish.  Kirkland played well and kept them in the game.

No we were second row from the front right of the goal.  Seemed to me there were pockets of fighting breaking out all over in south and east stands just after we scored.  We were lucky we had a very understanding steward near us.

Minor Trouble

Hard to see exactly what happened, looks like Liverpool fans in the Wigan end of the ground, stewards seemed to deal with it swiftly enough, looks like a couple of punches were thrown at the fans as they were being escorted out ?
