Never seen the game but im happy with 3 points.

For some reason a lot of the players are not playing to well but i think to play sh.it and still win away is a very good sign...it would not have happened last year!

Maybe the lads are a bit rattled after 2 draws were they expected to win against Portsmouth and Birmingham,if thats the case todays result could be a bit of a boost.

It will need to be cause our next 3 league games are Spurs(H),Everton(A) and Arsenal(H)...we also have Marseille on Wednesday night coming

Big couple of weeks ahead!!

The defence as well mate have been awesome, they protect him as if their life depends on it!

Its great to see and if it continues for a few more games teams will probably be playing us and thinking they have no chance! :D
Their heads will be down before a ball is kicked!

Well i'll start shall i , congratulations to the manager ,there you go that was hard wasn't it. Oh i forgot the team got a result inspite of the manager. Well it was the team that most wanted and it was as poor a performance as the pompey or birmingham games (that's because the team is not a cohesive unit i here you say, because rafa rotates so much blah blah blah.)

Well it was an inspired substitution by the boss and it got us out of the brown stuff ,a situation we were in because the players didn't perform.

SO ALL TOGETHER NOW, YIPPEEE FOR RAFA , he is not such a pr!ck after all is he hemdall or whatever your name is.

This is not a pro or anti rotation post , it's a pull your fingers out lads and start playing like we know you can type of post.
UP THE PURPS !!!

A win's a win, but as Liverpool fans, we rightly expect a little more. But I'm happy with this. 3 points are just what we need right now. When players remember how to win, it begins to feel natural and nerves disappear, while talents come to the fore. So hopefully this will be the beginning of a run of good results in the league. Next stop CL though. As for Yossi, this is what he's always going to provide. He has a version of small man syndrome which makes him fight for everything and never give up, and he can score. He makes an excellent plan B, because Pennant's crosses are top draw and that's probably the best way to go forward. But with 2 goals in 2 games, he may deserve a little bit of a run of starts.

I'm made up that we took the 3 points today but we were fortunate. IMO it was a penalty and the fella was on onsite. Also Agahowa missed that sitter. BUT, it is about time we got the rub of the green.

The team didnt' play too well but we ground out a result. I feel we are really missing Agger at the back. While we are looking solid defensively, we seem a little bereft of ideas going forwad as with Sammi there (he's still a fine defender btw), and the fact that he's lost quite a bit of pace, means that to compensate, he very often hoofs the ball long bypassing the midfield. I know he was never that pacey in the 1st place but feel that he has to compensate these days with long balls to give himself a bit more recovery time. With Carra partnering him, we lose quite a bit of the impetus from the back.

I for one am looking forward to get Agger back as I feel his contributions to our attacking aspects is extremely important.

It's also time, I feel that Kuyt is relegated to third choice. As much as I've defended him in the past, he's not offering much of a threat at the mo. As a few on here have said, It maybe time to see if Babel and Torres can forge a partnership upfront.

Today, Pennant & Riise didn't look very effective. Yossi did well when he came on. Gerrard was well below his best.

All in all, it was a good day as we won. But come January, we need better options in the wing positions.... especially if we can't get Harry fit....

awful game to watch. in the second half we came out with a completely different look about us but it just wasnt working. all credit to wigan wo played betetr than ive seen the, this season but yossi was the change we needed. its ncie to have something a lil different to mix it up.

they were unlucky with the offside but arsenal had the same luck against west ham

all in all gotta be happy with 3 points and yet another clean sheet.

Watching the Mancs play here. Birmingham deserve to be leading. Had one cleared off the line. They are doing more at OT than they did against us, that's for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if they knick the 3 points off United.

As for today, we were lucky! Wigan scored a good goal that should have stood and wasn't offside. Still, we played bad and got the win, and still have yet to conceid. Good news all round.

Oh, and I've just seen the Pompey highlights. Laughed my bollox off. David James is a rocket. The goals were just coming thick and fast that I had to laugh. School boy stuff.

Birminghams at home mate, still nice to hear they are doing ok , even nicer if they could snatch a couple of goals. Can't really comment on our game as the stream was so bad, but nice to get a win no matter how badly we played.

Reading missed a pen as well or it could have been 7 - 5 at Pompey .......and we couldn't score!  :D

Mancs are winning now  :(

Home? Ah, well. I 'm watching it on a small box and cant see it very well. Looked like it was OT at the start and just flicked back and forth whenever i heard something happening. Still, they are the better team so far. Looks like Bryl Cream is going to bail United out again. Come on Birmingham - knick one!

it looks like the side of torres that sabre has been talking about has surfaced...

anyway it was a good win and to be fair it was quite a lucky one... like Connovar mentioned the carragher incident could have been a penalty and bent was on-side... but luck was a bit overdue and this is it...

very good goal by benyaoun... it looks like he's our new garcia... very unpredictable... I don't mind if he comes off the bench and contributes like that... some players are better coming off the bench...

Haven't seen the game yet but it's a win which we desperately needed. I've read the thread and the match reports and by all accounts it was a pretty stilted performance despite the fact that as predicted, we put out just about the strongest team we had available. There really is no surprise there, I would have been staggered if we had gone there and played with fluency given the upheaval in the last couple of weeks, but no matter we got the win and whether or not we deserved it matters not a feck after were robbed against chelsea.

On a side note, after the slagging I gave Benayoun recently saying he'd never make it at Anfield, it's fantastic to see him take step one towards stuffing my words down my throat.

No surprises from me here, but if we must have a little rotate/rest/adjustment for people defending deep/allowance for jet lag I'd do it in the Champions League game. Then in the next league game I'd play the same team that started this one. Give 'em time and they'll show once again that there is actually quite a good football team in there trying to get out.

Typical, we win and get a couple of pages of posts, when we lose we get about 30 pages of posts and rants.
