Yes, Robbie was very talented. His shooting was superb, as was his instinct for where the goal was.

John Barnes, in his peak (i.e. 1987 to 1990) had an almost Maradona quality to him. Some of the goals he scored in the 1987-88 season were magnificient. Back then he had power and pace to ally to his skill and intelligence.

Peter Beardsley was a superby gifted player, but sadly we never really saw the best of him in a Liverpool shirt. He was great in 1987/88, but found himself on the bench a lot in 1988/89. He went on to do great things at Everton and then Newcastle: I cannot understand why Souness sold him.

Of course, the most complete player was Daglish. Had Fowler been born 12 or 13 years earlier, him playing alongside Daglish would have been incredible. Liverpool would have been unstoppable......(er, brain to JBG, they actually were unstoppable!  :D )

Jan Molby was the most comfortable player with a ball at his feet his control was sublime his passing   exquisite and his reading of the game unsurpassed .

Big  Jan glided with  the ball his fluent movement was elegance personified  he exuded class , this man literally made me weep with envy how  effortlessly  he would drop 60 yrd  passes to the feet of  strikers
The things he done week in week out were breathtaking .
Jans unquestionable skill belied the giant stature of the man just simply genius  and we were blessed to witness his brilliance at Anfield.

No-one in this current Liverpool team even comes a close second to Big Jans sheer artistry
  :D  :D  :D

Fantastic passer of the ball Molby, but I guess he had to be given that he couldn't run!

Hard to believe that he arrived and first played for Liverpool as a striker!

in terms of ability i would choose either steve mcmanaman or harry kewell, both are sublime dribblers and possess great touch and skill, but like JBG said this dosn't make them the best footballers

The best all round player in the list by far is Gerrard. His ability to influence Liverpools play cannot be matched by any other of those players :) . However my vote has got to go to Macca. His mesmeric dribbling gave us cutting edge that reminded us of Liverpool of old. Sadly the failure to properly replace him has played a big part in our downfall in recent years.

For his 75 yard run past 4 players and superb boal against Celtic still by far the best goal i've ever seen (live) in a red shirt. So once again Macca. The fact that he scored a near identical goal against Villa(i think) later the same week showed we had a talent for dribling and ball control in our midst, unsurpassed since George Best .
